We turned into the hospital car park and mom parked the car. We got out and I trudged behind mom in the rain. I kicked at the puddles with my feet. I didn't want to be back here, this place is boring.

"Maddie, come on, your getting wet" my mom said from the entrance to the building. "So" I muttered whilst kicking another puddle. "Maddie, why the mood?" My mom asked as I approached her. "I don't need to be here, I'm perfectly fine" I said whilst walking into the building.

We went into the elevator and went up to floor 3 in silence. We stepped out of the elevator and went down some hallways until we came to room 347, my room. I pushed open the door and dumped my bag next to the bed.

"I'm going to go find the doctor" my mom said as she went out of the room. I sat down on the bed and pulled my shoes off. I pulled the blankets over me and I grabbed the bed remote.

I made mattress come up so I could sit and lean up against it while I wait. As I sat and stared at the wall I realised how tired I was. I grabbed the remote again and moved the mattress back down to be flat. I laid my head on the pillow and pulled the blankets up.

I put the remote on the table next to the bed and closed my eyes to go to sleep. I lay with my eyes closed for a while. I heard some footsteps coming down the hallway toward my room.

I heard some voices coming and I soon figured out the voices were my mom and the doctor. They came into the room and stopped when they noticed me sleeping. I decided I would pretend to sleep and just listen for a while. I don't really feel like answering any questions.

"Well, it's good to see she's alright" the doctor said. "Yeah, she was fine at dance. She really does want to go back" my mom explained. I heard them both sit down on some chairs. "Was there any trouble at all while you were out" the doctor asked.

"Not that I know of, but she was a little moody when she had to come back here. She says that she doesn't need to be here and that she is fine" my mom said. I heard the sound of a pencil on paper. I figured the doctor was taking notes.

"Well, I guess the mood is understandable, nobody wishes to be in a hospital. I'm glad she had a good time at dance. She is making good progress and she should be fine to go home tomorrow if nothing happens tonight" the doctor told my mom.

I smiled to myself. I was finally going to be going home. "Oh that's good to hear, I'm know she'll love to come home" my mom said. I could tell she was smiling by the tone in her voice. "But, there is to be no dancing until Monday next week" the doctor said.

My smile faded, I really wanted to dance. "Oh, well one step at a time" my mom said trying to find the positive out of it. She always does that. "Alright, well we'll let her sleep" the doctor said as the both got up from the chairs they were sitting on.

I heard someone leave the room but I didn't know who. Someone came and sat on the bed. I felt someone kiss me on my forehead and figured it was my mom. "Sleep tight Maddie" my mom said stroking my hair.

"I'll be back tomorrow with Mackenzie to come take you home" she said. She got up off the bed and left my room. She turned the lights off and closed the door quietly plunging my room into darkness.
