Chapter 9

*The next day*

Elena was thinking too much so she decided to go back to the office (the workers really needed her back). In the parking lot, Elena was just sitting in her car debating if she should go in or not. After a couple of minutes of deciding she went in.

Worker: Oh thank god for coming back, Ms. Miller. (The worker handed her a bunch of papers)

Worker: You need to sign all of them, then you have 3 potential buyers on the phone. 

Elena: alright alright thank you.

Elena was rushing to her office when she saw Paul at his desk almost just right outside her office.

Elena: thank god Paul your here. I really need you to put all of these papers in the fax machine.

Paul: no problem.

Elena rushed into her office, when she reached her office she went in and quickly threw her bags on the ground and ran toward the phone. 

A couple of minutes later, she was done with her two calls. she was done writing her notes down. 

*phone call*

Elena: Hello this is Elena Miller, thank you for holding. how may I help you today?

Ben: Hey Elena, It's Ben.

Elena: Oh Ben hi.

Ben: So I'll be over at your house at 7 pm 

Elena: Oh right I completely forgot, It's been so hectic around here lately. (she chuckled a bit)

Ben: No problem at all, Can't wait to see you through.

Elena: Same here.

*End of the call*

Elena was so concentrated on her work. she got done 6 papers in 2 minutes.

Paul: Elena I have your drink for you.

Elena: Oh right thanks.

Paul: whoo it looks like a bomb exploded in here.

Elena: ya I know, I have not been able to clean because I have so many papers to deal with then I have more than 5 potential buyers. (Sign) so ya, pretty booked.

Paul: you need to remember to keep your blood pressure down. And your date tonight.

Elena: yes thanks for reminding me.

it was silents for a bit, the only sound was the pen moving on the paper that Elena was signing. 

Paul: hey you okay?

Elena: what- Oh yes I'm fine.

Paul: Elena, I know when somethings up.

Elena: (sigh) fine. Last night while I was working I got a phone call from this Man. He wanted to know if he could kill William for me. Of course, it came with a price. I said no. there's no way I'm gonna let someone kill him. 

Paul: oh wow that was not something I was expecting.

Elena: ya no kidding.

Paul sat down in the chair in front of her desk.

Paul: so what are you gonna do?

Elena: that's the part I don't know. I'm just gonna forget about it. 

Paul: but, you haven't seen William in a bit right?

Elena: Oh god your right, wait. what if something happened to him! 

Paul: hey hey chill, he's fine. Don't worry I will give a call. 

Elena: you will? thank you. Do not mention our conversation. 

Paul got up and left the room. He was supposed to call William but he didn't. He did not call because he wanted Elena to forget him and to focus on her relationship with Ben.
