Chapter 22

Elena slowly opened her eyes to see Paul and Pamala and the workers above her trying to wake her up. 

Elena: what happened?

Paul: Well, you came out of the board room looking like you saw a ghost. then you fainted. 

Elena: what?!

Pamala: You had a bad fall. Do you remember anything from before you fainted?

Elena:... I do! I sold my building to William...

Paul: what? no, you couldn't have.

Elena: he must have used a fake name with me but with the other buyers he used his real name.

Pamala: what are you gonna do now?

Elena: ... I don't know. Probably gonna sell it to him, just to get him to leave us alone. 

Elena tried to get up but she felt a pain in her stomach. 

Elena: (with her hand on her stomach) Ow!

Paul: whoo you okay?

Elena: I don't know I got a bad pain in my stomach. 

Pamala: that's weird? Did you have anything bad?

Elena: no. 

Pamala: have you been smoking again?

Elena: what! no, I have not. 

Elena got up and walked to her office. Paula and Pamala looked at each other then got up to walk with Elena.

Pamala: do you think it's okay for you to be walking this fast?

Elena: Well, right now I don't think anything is okay with me. 

Elena grabbed her purse and file paperwork. 

Paul: hey where are you going?

Elena: out of my way Paul.

Paul: No. you need to stay here so we can get a doctor to look at you. 

Elena went closer to his face. 

Elena: get out of my way or you're fired...

Paul was silent and moved from the doorway. Elena walked out, everyone was staring at her with shock on their faces.

*later that night at Elena and Ben's house*

Ben was working late that night. Elena was laying down on her couch when she kept on getting pain in her stomach. 

Elena: Oh my god. what is going on? 

Elena was so worried she tried everything. pain killers, anything. She was standing in the kitchen when she saw a pregnancy test on the counter. She was debating if she should take it. 

After a bit of debating, she grabbed the test to take. 

*8 minutes later*

She was walking back and forth in her living room.  She didn't want to look at the test but she did. It was positive...

When she saw the two lines on the test her eyes widen. She was so scared! what if it was Williams's child? or bens? She was thinking How can she be a mother when she can't even take care of herself?? 

She was so scared when she saw it. Then she heard the keys in the door. She knew it was Ben so she quickly hides the test in a drawer. then quickly ran to the couch and pretended to be going over some papers for work. 

Ben: Hey, sorry I took so long.

Elena: Oh hey, It's no trouble. 

Ben: so anything special happen today?

Elena was thinking about all that happened that day. She was staring at the ground. 

Ben: Elena? Is everything okay?

Elena:...Oh, what? right sorry kinda drifted off. 

Ben: okay then. 

Ben started walking to the kitchen to put his keys in the key drawer. when he opened it Elena's eyes widen because she remembered she put the test in that drawer!

Ben: (holding the test) Elena...What is this?!

Elena: (With a nervous look and sound in her face)...Um. 

Ben: Wait...are you... pregnant?

Elena was silent. She was so scared because she didn't know who the true dad was.

Ben: Elena. 

Elena looked back at him with tears in her eyes then nodded to confirm his question.

Ben: Oh..My...

Ben ran back her and sat with her (In front of her)

Ben: Elena. why didn't you tell me?

Elena: (with tears falling down her face) I didn't want to tell you because I didn't know who the dad was. You or...William. 

Ben: William?! didn't you use protection?

Elena: It was too late before we could. 

Elena: (crying) I'm so sorry Ben. 

Ben hugged her. 

Ben: it's gonna be okay we will get through this.

Elena: also... I sold my building to William...

Ben: you what! 

Elena: I didn't know till I was in a meeting with the buyers, they said I sold it to William Brown. that was impossible because I sold my building to a man with a different name. until I realized he switched his name. 

Ben: that son of a b***h.

Elena: I know. also, I came out and fainted. I got up and my stomach got a bad pain. so I saw a pregnancy test, I took it and now this...

Ben: Okay, now we need to figure out how we will prose with these problems.

Elena: I'm taking a big break, I'm pregnant. 

Ben: That sounds so weird coming from you.

Elena: I know. 

They both laughed a little then kissed.
