Amber's POV

"I am so happy, my wedding is in two days time" I said to myself while I was still in bed then I checked my time

"Oh my gosh it is 7:30 am" I screamed

"What's happened" my mom said rushing into my room

"I would be late for work"I said removing my clothes

"Okay then hurry up"she said and left

I ran into the bathroom and quickly took my bath.I wore my clothes and did my makeup quickly. I was through around 8:50

I went to the living room to meet my dad

"Dad could you please drop me off at work" I asked

"Okay get in the car"he said

We got into the car and he started driving

" Have you eaten"my dad asked

" Nope"I replied

He stopped the car in front of a restaurant

" Dad why did you stop" I asked

"To get you some food" he said

He left the car and went into the restaurant to get some food. After some minutes,he came back

"Here you go" he said giving me the food

"Awwnn... Hamburger thanks dad" I said

"There is water inside the nylon, I don't want you to go to work without eating" he said

" Why"I asked

" Because you need energy to work...duhh" he said and we both started laughing

I ate and after some minutes, we got to my work place. It was 8:20 am. I was late. I went inside the office and I saw my boss

"See me at my office immediately" he said

"Okay sir"I replied

I didn't know whether he was angry or not but I quickly dropped my bag and went to his office. I knocked on his door and he asked me to come in

"You came late today and there's a penalty for coming late so 5% would be deducted from your salary for this month"he said

" I am so sorry sir. It is just that I have been busy with the preparations for my wedding so"then he stopped me

" Wedding, are you getting married" He asked

" Yes sir,in the next two days"I replied

" But why didn't you tell me before, I don't want to see you in this office tommorow" he said

" But why sir"I asked

"You have to stay at home and prepare for your wedding. And your salary still remains the same" he said

" Thank you sir"I said smiling and I left his office

I went to my office and I started working. After some minutes there was a knock on my door

"Come in" I said

It was Robert, he was also working in this office

"Hi miss Amber" he said

"Oh Mr Robert, how are you" I asked

"Just call me Robert" he said

"Okay then,so what are doing here or what do you want"I asked

" I was just thinking If maybe you wanna go out for lunch during the lunch break"he asked

"Yes sure"I replied and I smiled

" Okay"he said and he left

After some hours of working,it was lunch break

We were allowed to go out during the break,as long as we came back to the office before the break was over.

Robert took me to a restaurant that was near our office. We walked there and ordered for some food

"This food is delicious" I said

"Yes" he replied smiling

"Why is he smiling" I said in my mind

"Amber" he said dropping his spoon

" Yes"I replied

"You are a really beautiful woman and I like you" he said

" Thanks"I replied

" So do you wanna hang out tomorrow" he asked

"Nope,my wedding is in two days time" I said and he choked on the food he was eating

"Take some water" I said giving him some water and he drank it

" Are you okay"I asked him

" Yes I am fine" he replied

We ate our food in silence. After some minutes, I broke the silence

"We should get back to the office" I said

"Yes" he replied

We walked back to the office in silence. He didn't talk to me again after what I told him.

After we closed,I went to meet Robert

"Hey" I said to him

"Hi" he replied

"I just wanted to check if you are fine"I said

"I am fine"he said

" Okay"I said and I left

From the way he spoke,I knew he was heartbroken. I was so sorry for him
I went home and I met Jackson at home

"Hey baby did I keep you waiting" I said hugging him

"Not really,how was work"He asked

" It was fine"I answered

I went inside to change and after some minutes,I came back to the living room

We started talking about our wedding and everything. We were ready for the wedding. Everything was in place.
After some hours Jackson decided to leave

"I have leave now, it's getting late. See you tomorrow"he said

" Okay "I said and I kissed him

Jackson's POV

I headed for the hotel I was staying. I was at home all alone.i decided to text Alice

"Baby,I miss you" I texted

"I miss you too" she replied after some minutes

"I would come over tomorrow" she texted

"No you can't, Amber isn't going to work so I would have to be at her place"I texted

" Okay then,I would have to stay at home all by myself"she texted

" Have you packed your bags"I texted

" Yes"she replied

" We would be leaving by 6:30 am next tommorow" I texted

"Wow, that's early" she replied

"I have sold my car already so I order for a cab that would take us to the airport"I texted

" Okay darling"she replied and I smiled

" She is really beautiful" I said to myself
