A New Start

                                                                                 Kades Perspective

The next morning I woke up to paper being thrown at my head. I looked next to me and saw Sarah peacefully sleeping in my arms. I looked to the doorway to see Ben, he threw another paper at me. I got up and walked into the hallway with him.

¨Why didn't you just come in instead of throwing paper at me?¨ I asked.

¨I didn't want to wake up Sarah,¨ Ben said.

¨So, why exactly did you wake me up?¨ 

¨For this,¨ he said then punched me in the face.

I stumbled backwords and held my face with my hand. When I took my hand away there was blood.

¨What was that for?¨ I yelled.

¨What the hell were you doing with Sarah in there!? And why didn't you return any of my texts or calls last night!?¨ 

¨You need to calm down, we watched a scary movie and she was scared so I held her and we accidently fell asleep like that. And Sarahs phone died last night and I just forgot to text you,¨ I told him.

¨You need to stay away from Sarah, I should have never asked you for help,¨ Ben yelled and then hit me again.

¨Ben stop!¨ Sarah yelled, she was standing in the bedroom doorway, we must have woken her up by yelling.

Ben took her arm and tried pulling her down the hallway but she got free. She ran up to me and took my hand off of my face. 

She turned to Ben and sternly said, ¨You need to leave, now¨

Ben started walking towards her but she backed away and said, ¨Stay away from me, go find a hotel or something, but youre not staying here¨

Ben angerly walked out of the house, got into his car, and drove off. Sarah walked me to the bathroom to clean me up. I pointed to where the medical cabinet was and she cleaned up my face. 

¨Im so sorry,¨ she said as she put the ointment away.

¨Its not your fault,¨ I said.

¨Im still sorry, you didn't deserve that¨

I smiled and we continued on with our day like nothing happened.

Later, I took her shopping for clothes since we didn't bring any. We both bought bathing suits since the ocean is in our back yard. When we returned to the house Sarah went to the beach to sun tan, I made sure to keep an eye on her from the house. While I was doing the dishes, I receive a text from Ben.

1:28 PM

Ben: You can't keep me from her, you know.

Me: If you keep acting the way you are, I will.

Ben: Oh, but here's where you're wrong.

Me: ?

Ben: I can easily call Henry, tell him where she is, and have him bring her to me.

Ben: It's that simple.

Me: You wouldn't, you care too much about her.

Ben: Oh, but I would, I can save her from him and make me look like the hero and she'll forgive me for how I acted.

Me: Ben, you stay away from her.

Ben: Well see about that won't we. 

I looked out the window to make sure Sarah was still okay, and she was. I decided to go down there just to make sure she's safe, but I brought some water guns to have some fun with her. 

I filled up the water guns with water with the hose at the house, then made my way down to the beach. When I got down there, we were the only ones there. 

¨Oh Sarah,¨ I teased and when she looked up at me I shot her with the water gun.

¨Kade!¨ She screamed as she laughed, she immediately got up and ran.

Sarah picked up the second water gun that I threw in the sand and started squirting me with it. We were in a full on battle until we both ran out of water. I ran out first so I ran to her, scooped her up by the waist, and threw her over my shoulder. Then I ran into the ocean wile Sarah was giggling and yelling. 

¨No! Its cold!¨ Sarah yelled as I jumped into the water.

I let go of her when we were waist deep in the ocean and she splashed me to get revenge. We were both laughing and playing in the water when we heard someone yell.

¨Sarah, please come up here, im sorry for how I acted, can we talk?¨ It was Ben, he was yelling from the deck at the house.

I turned to Sarah and she nodded her head, we both got out of the water and walked back up to the house. When we got there I got us both towels to dry off and she went out to the deck with Ben.

                                                                                 Sarahs Perspective

I sat down outside on the deck with Ben with a towel wrapped around my arms. I looked at him and he looked at me, I was going to wait for him to talk first.

¨Im sorry, I shouldn't have acted that way and I shouldn't have hit Kade,¨ he finally said.

¨Thank you for apologizing, but Ben,¨ I said.

¨Yeah?¨

¨I think we should break up¨

Ben sat there shocked for a second, then a look of anger crossed over him.

¨After everything ive done for you!? This is how you repay me?¨

He started yelling some more and before I could get up to walk away, he hit me. I brought my hand to my face as tears filled my eyes, then I ran. I ran down to the beach and didn't stop running. I don't know how far down the coast I made it, but eventually I stoped and sat in the sand. I cried, I cried because I thought the one person I thought was good tuned bad, I cried because my life is a mess, and I cried because I had no hope left. Before I knew it, it was dark and I couldn't find my way home. I checked my phone to see I had 3 missed calls from Kade, 1 from Ben, and a whole bunch of unread texts from them both.

8:47 PM

Kade: Sarah where did you go?

Kade: Its not safe out there

Kade: Please call me

9:04

Kade: Bens dangerous, come back home and stay away from him

Kade: He went looking for you

Kade: He told me he would call Henry to tell him where we are

Kade: Please Sarah, ive looked everywhere

I sat there reading the messages over and over again, I was shocked. I was shocked at how little Ben cared about me and shocked at how much Kade does care about me.  I was in my head so I couldn't hear someone walk up next to me.

¨Sarah baby, ive been so worried about you,¨ said Ben.

I turned to look at him and he looked genuinely scared. Maybe Kade was lying to me, Ben only cares about me, he wouldn't hurt me. Ben put his hand on mine and we sat in silence for a minute.

Finally, Ben spoke, ¨If I can't have you, then neither can Kade¨

He then violently took my arm and pulled me up so we were both standing. He dragged me to the parking lot that wasn't far from the beach. He shoved me against his car and started yelling, but I didn't know what he was saying because I was distracted by the sight of headlights. Ben didn't seem to notice when someone got out of the car and started running towards us. Ben soon heard someone coming, so he pulled out a gun and aimed it at whoever was running at us. I then realized that the person who was coming wasn't a stranger, it was Kade.
