A Redo

It was Kade. Kade was coming to save me, yet again. But this time he wasn't going to make it out alive. Ben had his gun pointed at him but Kade didn't stop running, he was determined. I couldn't let this happen, I couldn't let him die. Ben was going to kill him, he was going to pull the trigger. I twisted out of Bens grip and jumped in front of the gun as he pulled the trigger. Everything went black, I fell to the ground and the last thing I heard was Kades scream.

                                                                                 Kades Perspective

He shot Sarah. The bullet was supposed to hit me, but she sacrificed herself for me. I ran to her, I kneeled on the ground and held her head up as I fumbled for my phone. Ben dropped the gun and ran. I descried him to the cops over the phone and they had an ambulance on the way. Though I didn't think Sarah could hear me, I still talked to her.

¨Sarah its gonna be okay, youre gonna be alright,¨ I whispered to her as I held her head to my chest.

¨Im so sorry,¨ I told her.

She didn't say anything back, I was too scared to check her pulse. She can't be dead, she can't be, I thought, this is all my fault. I started to cry, I cried until the paramedics got there and I cried all the way to the hospital. I couldn't think straight, which made the paramedics think i couldn't drive right either so they had a cop drive me to the hospital. I told him everything that had happened, from the beginning, when I broke up with her. He told me that if they caught Henry and Ben in California, they could go to jail for life. That gave me hope, gave me hope for Sarah to be safe, gave me hope for a new beginning. When we got to the hospital they made me wait in the waiting room for hours before I could see Sarah, they didn't even tell me if she was okay within the first hour I was there. I was so worried, I needed something to take my mind off of things. I went to the gift shop inside the hospital and bought Sarah some flowers and a giant teddy bear.

When they finally let me in to see Sarah she was all drugged up on pain meds. I showed her the flowers and she called them a cactus.

¨Sarah I brought you a teddy bear,¨ I softly said to her.

¨How sweet, but what am I going to do with this,¨ she said.

¨I don't know, you could cuddle with it¨

Then she looked sad and I saw tears form in her eyes.

¨Whats wrong?¨ I asked.

¨Id rather cuddle with you,¨ she said.

She must have been really out of it for her to say that, I mean, we broke up, I should mean nothing to her now. But instead of protesting, I climbed into the hospital bed with her and she layed her head on my chest. She wrapped her arm around me and closed her eyes.

¨Sarah, why did you say that?¨

¨Because,¨ she said then yawned, ¨I love you¨
