Chapter 22

"You guys! Chill! We were only gone for a day!" I shouted when Laxus and I were bombarded as soon as we entered the guild.

"Why didn't you answer when I called?" Gajeel immediately demanded.

"I was busy."

"With what?!"

"Do you really want me to answer that?"

"You defiled my sister?" Gajeel's angry red eyes swung to Laxus.

"Dude... Angel's an adult. I didn't defile her. She was an-" I slapped my hand over Laxus' mouth before he could finish his sentence.

"Shut up. Say another word and I'll let you two duke it out and deal with Master and Erza. Gajeel,  I'm a grown woman. What I dfi with my boyfriend is none of your business. Just like what you and Levy do when you're alone is none of my business. I love you and I love him.  I'm not asking you to be best friends but you will respect my choices."

"But I-"

"Don't make me call Mira." I threatened.

"Okay,  everybody relax. How'd the job go?" Levy asked.

"Pretty good. We did have a small hiccup when one of the wyverns grabbed me,  but we managed to clear them out." I answered.

"Who killed it?" Natsu questioned.

"I did,  obviously. The thing was way too clingy for my tastes." I sassed.

"Angel, thanks. If you weren't for you Lis and I would still be dancing around each other." Bickslow said as he walked up. Hid uncharacteristic sincerity stalled me for a moment before Laxus pinched my side.

"You're welcome, Bix. I'm just glad it worked. I - ah!" The pain hit me like a wall, forcing me to my knees.

"Angel! Baby, what's wrong? Talk to me." Laxus knelt at my side, putting his hand on my back.

"I - fuck - I need to go home. Now." I grit out.

"Shit! Is it time already?" Gajeel asked.

"Now Laxus."

"I'll take you." Gajeel offered.

"No. Only - only Laxus. Please."

"I got you. You're gonna be okay." Laxus lifted me up in his arms bridle style and I curled in on myself as he began to carry me out of the guild.

"Angel," Laxus pulled my attention to him as he laid us on the bed, curling around me, "tell me what's happening. How can I help?"

"You can't. This is the start of mating season. I just need you to hold me for now."

"I thought you already had your mating season."

"Ah! It - it happens four times a year. You - god - you'll need to leave before the second week starts."

"I'm not gonna leave you like this." Here argued, holding me tight.

"Laxus, when the second week starts... if you're here, you'll want to mate me. If that happens, we'll be bound together for the rest of our lives."

"Do you not want that?"

"Do you? You'll be... compelled to want to prove yourself and mate me. Are you - Jesus - are you sure you want to be bound to me for the rest of our lives? There's no undoing it once it's done."

"Baby, I would be honored to be your mate; to be the one who gets to wake up with you every morning and gets to see every step of you becoming an unstoppable wizard."

"Ngh... I love you, Laxus Dreyar."

Quick note: I know it's super short, especially after the last two chapters. But that's all I got for now. The next chapter will be the last, but there will be a sequel. It won't be a continuation of Angel and Laxus' story, however they will be a good part of it.
