Chapter 13

)Kayla's POV(

I woke up in a white room. All I could hear is the monitor next to me, mirroring my heart beat. I put off the wires attached to my body and make my wake out of bed, by the looks of it, it's pretty late.

The moon is full, and I can't help but look at the beautiful sight of its starry skies. Memories suddenly hit me from what happened earlier, I had passed out from the pain.

I look around the small white room and see it's empty. I walk out the door into the quiet halls of the school infirmary. I find the bathroom and go inside, looking the door behind me. I look in the mirror, I was wearing the gym clothes I had on. But I couldn't help but look at my back, where the pain had struck. When I looked I wish I did not.

There was a marking. It was a crescent moon on my back with swirls in the middle of its crescent. Although it was pretty, I was scared to why it had been there.

What's happening!!!!!

I thought. I slipped back out of the bathroom, only to face the headmistress of the school.

Crap! what have I gotten myself into?

Headmistress- "Would you like to tell me what happened outside on the arena floors today?"

After she had caught me, she dragged me back to her office and wouldn't let me say a word intill we got there.

Kayla- "I H-ha-av-ve nn-no idea what y-your talking a-about"

Fugdesickles, I studdered!

Headmistress- "on the contrary, you showed the most remarkable skill I've haven't seen in centuries."

She leaned in closer to me,

Headmistress- "It's quite fascinating really. Your the first student to ever pass my student Alexandra, she has a nice interesting power doesn't she. Creating illusions from nothing else but memories."

I gulped as she continued on,

Headmistress- "plus, you received a marking from the moon goddess herself. So tell me this, who are you girl?"

I leaned back in my chair, frightened by her knowledge of me,

Kayla- "My name is Kayla, I'm one of your newer students."

The headmistress stood up from her spot behind the desk and starred at me intently, she blinks a few times and raced to one of the books on the near by bookshelf.

She begins to race through the pages and stops at one reading down the page, stealing glances at me. When she stops reading, she snaps the book closed and puts it on her desk.

Headmistress- "you have brought danger to this academy."

Kayla- "what did I do?!"

Headmistress- "with you as seekist, Ms.Kayla, the different races with fight for you, to get in your favor. There is the prophecy, and you are in it."

Kayla- "what the hell are you talking about?!!"

I was getting angry. First she blames me for some unknown danger. And then taking about some stupid prophecy?!

Headmistress- "don't use that tone young lady, I might not be as strong as you, but this is my school and you are under my orders under MY roof!"

She sighs and rubs her temples with her thumb and pointer finger.

Headmistress- "the prophecy is told that a hero, seen to the people as seekist, well either give us peace or give the world of the races destruction. The people will see her as seekist and know her as the name Kayla."

She stares into my eyes and continues,

Headmistress- "with this, and your power to choose your own race, the different races will try to win you favor to make you come to their side. As most may be allies, that doesn't change the fact of the wars going on between some or even the same races. And with you in the middle of it, both will try to get you on their side, but you have to be wise and choose, Good or the Evil."

Kayla- "How do you even know it's me? What if it's someone else?"

She smiles warmly at me, and takes my shoulders in her hands, looking me in the eye.

Headmistress- "The moon goddess has given you her mark. And you will be marked as the seekist."

Ok so I'm processing this......

I just left the headmistress' office and was heading to my room. Most of the people was probably sleeping or ignoring me on my way to the room. Once I got into my room Sophia looked at the door with wide eyes.

Sophia- "W-who's t-there?"

Kayla- "Sophia stop messing around I'm right here."

Again Sophia looks at the door and looks around the room with wide eyes.

Sophia- "Kayla stop it. Your scaring me! Come out of your hiding place."

I look at Sophia, not convinced. I closed the door behind me and stood I front of Sophia, who was sitting in the living room, on the couch with a book at hand. But, as I may have been in front of her, she looked to be looking straight through me.

Kayla- "I'm standing in front of you."

Sophia screamed with all her might, making me jump backwards and trip over the coffee table and fall on the floor as I clutched me ears.

Finally she stopped screaming and looked me in the eyes.

Kayla- "what was that for?!"

Sophia- "oh my goddess, you found a new power."

Kayla- "what the hell are you talking about?" I groaned.

Sophia- "you have the power of invisibility now."
