Lisa hesitated before pressing delete. She exhaled sharply while burying her face in her hands.
Jennie was perfect.
Why is she doing this to herself? Lisa hasn't got a clue. With each passing second, she felt more and more building regret towering within her. So close... so close to her tipping point...
She immediately slid her phone under the pillow when she heard the bedroom door shut. Lisa steadied her breathing before turning to face the door. Chaeyoung stared back at the younger girl with a blank look. After a minute of silence, Chaeyoung crossed her arms, brows curving in irritation. "What?" The older girl said with annoyance.
"Can I..." Lisa fidgeted with her thumbs anxiously. "Go on, spit it out," Chaeyoung said while tapping her feet. "Can I take you on a date today?" Lisa asked quietly, causing Chaeyoug's brows to arch in surprise. "I have a girlfriend." Chaeyoung stated in a 'you should know this' tone.
They fell into silence once again.
"I broke up with Jennie."
Chaeyoung's expression softened at Lisa's confession. She couldn't believe that Lisa actually followed through with that, regardless of her harsh comments. She cleared her throat and regained composure.
Lisa continued to stare at the older girl with sincerity. Chaeyoung let out a tired sigh. "We have to work today." Lisa furrowed her brows in confusion. "Stop lying, no we don't." Lisa huffed.
Chaeyoung rolled her eyes.
"Why would I lie about this? Jen- Ms. Kim sent an email out saying that the proper work schedules start today. Every absence subtracts 200 dollars off of your pay-check." Chaeyoung said blankly, making Lisa's jaw drop in shock.
"I... I'll go change then..." Lisa mumbled. Her steps towards the closet were heavy. Every time Jennie's image flashed in her head, she would feel a hard slap across her cheek. Lisa felt like shit. Trash. A jerk. A total and a complete jerk.
When she was drunk, Jennie was the one who carried her home. When she was hungover, Jennie was the one who was worried sick despite being in a meeting. When Chaeyoung ditched Lisa, Jennie would be there every time to keep her company. Jennie was always there for her. She was always there for Lisa.
Lisa put on her grey blazer carelessly, staring into silence and disappointment.
The front door unlocked, startling Lisa. She turned her head sharply, only to be met with a gorgeous and perfect smile. The perfect girlfriend of her perfect Chaeyoung. With her perfect face, the perfect car, and perfect manners. Such perfection that Lisa despised.
Such perfection, that stole her princess Rosie. Oh, how she wished for that asshole Jimin to appear again. Oh, how she wished for the words "my girlfriend" to come out of Chaeyoung's mouth again.
But wishes don't come true.
Lisa was about to grab her car keys when Chaeyoung interrupted.
"She'll be driving us today. Say thank you." Chaeyoung said while staring at the woman dreamily. Lisa swallowed her pride with force. "Thanks..." she mumbled before giving Jisoo a light bow. She was humbled by her gesture, immediately stating that there no need for such honorifics.

The car was filled with thick tension and utter silence. A shame that Jennie is not here, because then uncomfortable would truly be in caps.
Jisoo gulped.
"Jennie was quite upset this morning. She hated me even more than she normally does." She joked awkwardly. Lisa just stared out in the window, deep in thought.
'How do I face her?' Lisa thought to herself before biting her lips nervously. She'd be lying if she said that Jennie had never made her heart skip a beat.
'She was upset... I made her upset...' Lisa's eyes filled with tears, overwhelming amounts of guilt flooding her system.
Chaeyoung glanced at the rearview mirror.
After Lisa had told her about her situation with Jennie, she felt more than shitty. Chaeyoung frowned when she saw Lisa's tear rimmed eyes. 'I'm sorry love... but I have to be loyal to her. I promised myself not to interfere with your life anymore. But I'm too selfish... I want you all to myself. You're mine. And I'm sorry... that I can't be yours.'
Lisa leaned her head against the cold, hard, glass window. Tears were threatening to spill out of her eyes when her phone started to vibrate. Her customized Sunmi ringtone blasted at full volume.
She looked down at the caller ID.
Jennie unnie is calling...
Lisa's heart exploded. She needed to know if Jennie was okay. But Chaeyoung's in the car...
The younger girl sighed heavily before pressing the green button to answer the call. 'I hate myself...' Lisa stayed silent, her heart beating out of her chest.
Does Jennie hate her now?
"So... are you not gonna say hi?" Jennie asked softly.
"H-hi Jennie unnie..." Lisa mumbled, effectively causing Chaeyoung's head to do a 180 at lightning speed.
"Lisa... I called because... Lisa, I know you. I know you would never do anything to hurt me..." With that, the tears that Lisa had been holding in forever finally spilled down. 'Is Jennie yelling at her? Why is my Lisa crying?' Chaeyoung thought with furrowed brows, her heart ached to see Lisa so broken.
'It's all my fault...'
"So please just- tell me what's going on... I'm confused... you know I love you right? More than anything else in this world." Jennie confessed. Lisa gulped. God, Jennie was making this a lot harder than it already was.
"We're here," Jisoo said before flashing Lisa a small, worried smile. Lisa returned the gesture. However, her insanely small smile seemed to drop even more. Jennie was standing there, outside of the car, staring into Lisa's eyes.
Chaeyoung felt a pang of jealousy once again.
She closed her eyes. 'I can't believe I'm doing this...'
"Lisa..." Chaeyoung whispered, part of her hoping that Lisa didn't hear. "Yes, Chae?" Lisa said with a weak smile.
Chaeyoung sighed.
"G-Go to her. She needs you."
