4. The Flirt Line
I accompany Hoseok to get dinner. I order fried rice with cabbages and peas, while he gets chicken carbonara. I'm amazed by the menu selection. It explains why the fees for this place are exorbitant.
Why am I only now thinking about how I'm actually surrounded by rich kids?
While I was busy getting worked up about bullies, I forgot to worry about spoilt rich brats.
Yes, the only reason my parents managed to get me into this school is because they're wealthy, but I promise I'm neither spoilt, nor a brat.
Hoseok leads me to a table where several boys are already seated, including Jimin. I also see Jackson, the guy Jimin and I ran from earlier on today.
I'm glad there's none of those visiting girls at the table. It's not like I'm helpless around girls. My luck is not the best around so I would rather not test it. However, I doubt the possibility of me being distracted by anyone else happening with my new-found crush seating just a few feet away from me.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think most of the girls at my old school have nothing on these boys.
"Hello everyone, this is Taehyung, my new roommate," Hoseok introduces me as he takes a seat beside Jimin. I sit on his other side.
"Welcome to Beachwood, Taehyung."
"Hi bro."
"'tsup dude."
Needless to say, the boys at the table give me a warm welcome. My first day at a new school is turning out better than I had anticipated.
"You always get the handsome ones, don't you?" Jackson, who's sitting on the other side of the table, pipes up, addressing Hoseok.
"Get lost, Jack."
Jackson grins at me, then winks.
Hoseok leans towards me, bringing his lips close to my ears. "He's a manwhore, don't mind him."
I give a nod, then dig into my food.
"Don't get all excited, Jack. Taehyung here has a weakness for girls," Hoseok reveals, and I almost choke on my rice.
I bump my arm into his side. "Shut up, Hoseok."
Jimin leans over Hoseok so that he can give me a look. Smirking, he asks, "Oh, does he?"
Why does he ask that as if he finds it amusing? He doesn't suspect that I do not only like girls, does he?
Has he caught me checking him out? I only did that when he wasn't looking!
Hoseok leans towards his boyfriend and whispers something into his ear. Jimin's eyes widen as he continues staring at me.
"You got someone pregnant?" he inquires in shock.
"No I didn't... Hoseok, shut up, man!" I groan, swallowing back a cuss. I almost go berserk on him, but then he shoots me an innocent smile as if he didn't just blow my cover.
"I can still tell you're not entirely straight," Jackson states. "I'm good at detecting that kind of thing."
"Or maybe you're just good at preying on innocent kids until they give in to you," Hoseok argues.
Hold up a second. Jackson is gay too?
"You just said he knocked someone up," Jackson points out. "He's clearly the furthest thing away from innocent."
Deciding that at this point arguing that I have never knocked anyone up my entire life will not make any difference, I let them go ahead and debate my innocence.
