Chapter 8 - Moon U

Around 1am, her phone buzzes and wakes her up in her light sleep.

[Jaebeom: Are you still awake? I thought you'd come over to talk.

[Jina: Can it wait tomorrow? I'm in bed.

[Jaebeom: Sure. Sorry I woke you.

[Jina: Sorry I forgot about the talk. I've been really busy. Do you need me to come over now?

[Jaebeom: No no, get some sleep. It's fine.

[Jina: Night xx

[Jaebeom: Night. Sweet dreams xx

That night she dreams of Jaebeom: Nothing spicy, just him smiling at her, being supportive, soft and kind, making her feel loved. She wakes up with the warmest feeling and checking her phone realises she was half asleep when she texted him, and sent him kisses as a habit. Feeling mortified, she is angry at herself for her lack of professionalism until, a second later, she sees that he sent her kisses too. Is Jinyoung onto something? Obviously, she feels something when he is looking at her, any normal person would. Especially since the massage, she just can't help but feeling overwhelmed when he smiles at her. But that doesn't mean she has feelings for him or him for her. Nevertheless, she gets ready and finishes packing before leaving her room and heads to the elevator, waiting patiently... until she sees him joining her.

JB: Morning. Did you sleep well? He asks in a chirpy way.

J: Ye.. yeah I did thanks, she answers nervously, without looking at him.

Relieved to have been able to say more than two words this time, she feels her confidence building up again.

JB: Sweat dreams?

She stares at him in shock. It's not possible for him to know he has taken over her dreams too. Her shocked expression surprises him and he smiles.

JB: What? Did I say something?

J: Nothing! She says staring at the elevator doors opening.

As he lets her getting in first, she is desperate for someone to join them as apprehension to be alone with him rises, but the doors close.

J: Your hair is wet.

JB: Yours too.

Somehow changing subject, distracts her enough to be able to relax and have a normal conversation.

J: I missed my alarm, I didn't have time to dry it, she answers shortly.

JB: Same. Are you looking forward to going home?

J: I'm visiting family so I won't be in Seoul.

JB: Me neither. I bought my parents a house on Jeju island so I'm gonna stay there for a few days. Where are your parents?

J: In Toronto, so I will visit them when we go there, on the tour.

JB: Oh? So where are you off to then?

J: I'm visiting my aunt.

JB: Where about?

J: ... Jeju... she says reluctantly.

She can see his smile even though she is not looking at him.

JB: We'll have to meet up for a drink or something.

J: I'm gonna be pretty busy, we'll see.

Unwilling to commit to meeting up, she can start seeing what Youngjae and Jinyoung see and knows she is definitely falling for him. Having made peace with the idea of having two men in her heart, she is annoyed at the idea she now has a third man clearly settling in.
