"Just please be careful when you do things like that." Y/n murmured as Zuko entered the room. His fire nation armor clinking as he walked.
"Dont tell me what to do." he scoffed, placing his helmet on a table near the mechanics of the ship.
"Im not telling you-! Zuko, we are hiding out on General Zhao's ship for bending's sake! All I'm saying is make sure youre careful when you talk to Unle Iroh." she stressed, watching the door.
"I'm not a child anymore. I dont need you nagging me like youre over me." He said, sitting down on one of the chairs in the corner. The storage room they were hididng out in was extremely hot, and the heat was starting to get to y/n.
"Youre 16! We are both still children! Its not like what we're doing isn't crazy dangerous already, but youre putting so much at risk when you be careless!" She yelled, sweat forming on her brow.
"Youre only a year older than me, stop acting like my mother!" He yelled back.
"Y/n look, mom got us fruit tarts!" Younge zuko yelled as he entered the courtyard. Y/n was sitting in the grass, meditating. Her eyes snapped open and a smile formed on her face as he approached.
"Thank you Zuko." She said softly, taking a tart from his hands. "Tell Miss that I am greatful."
The two sat in silence as they munched on the sweets. Zuko finished his quickly, and opped to watching y/n as she finished her's.
"Why are you looking at me?" She asked, shying away from his gaze.
"Because, youre pretty."
Y/n blinked back tears, her fists clutched at her sides. She lowered her head, she didn't want him to see her cry again. Zuko's eyes widened and he stood from his seat.
"Stop yelling at me." She whispered, a tear slipping down her face and splattering on the wood floor.
"Why are you crying?" He asked, y/n didn't reply. Zuko reached out and lifted her chin with his thumb. His gaze was stern, but softer than it had even been since they had reunited. Why did he hate it when she cried?
"Look at me." Y/n's eye were wet when she locked eyes with him.
"Please just dont get yourself hurt." She mumbled, closing her eyes. Zuko chuckled, the hard edges of his attitude softening for the moment.
"Admiral Zhao is taking troops to the northern water Tribe, we'll be there soon and take the Avatar from right under his nose. Then we both an return to the fire nation and live the life we deserve."
"You deserve. Youre forgetting, I'm a pesant, a weapon." Y/n said, her hand going slack against his hand. Her eyes flew open when his hand gripped her chin a little harder.
"Stop saying that. Once I regain my honor, the fire nation will treat you like a queen. I swear to it." he said in determination, and suddenly y/n felt so vaunerable under his gaze.
suddnely the door to the room slid open, making Zuko drop his hand and move back to his chair. Iroh entered the room, holding a tray with three cups of tea.
"We should be docking in a couple minuets, get ready." Iroh stated
Y/n looked to Zuko and she could tell then and there that he was molding back to his original state, could and angry. His usual scowl returned, as of the moment they had never happened.
"No one can take your honor from you." Y/n mumbled silently to herself before wiping the sweat off her brow and beginning to put her armor on.
"Y/n. You stay here." Zuko said, putting his fire nation armor back round his body.
