"Happy birthday to you!" They all sang.

Everyone was here. Ranger, Lenny, Dad, Eve, Keith, the kids, Teddy, Han, Atticus, Armand, Khai and Amy, even Ms. Chrissy from the easter photoshoot.

I sat on a high stool while everyone was around the table singing to me.

"Happy birthday day to you!"

My eye was feeling much better, I just have to wear a plastic eye shield over my right eye so I don't scratch or get water in it.

Dad brought my Hello Kitty birthday cake over with Miss Chrissy. The sparkle candles made me smile brightly.

I'm finally 18.

"Happy birthday to yooouuu!" They sang a little slower.

"Ranger, where exactly are we going?" I was in the front seat with him.

"Somewhere I wanted to take you for a long time." He bit his thumb and steered with one hand.

"A secret place?" I bit my bottom lip with a little smile.

"Something like that."

"We left the party a little early, don't you think?" I pouted.

"It's fine, I asked your Pops and he was okay with it."

"I can't see."

Ranger put his hands over my face, trying to lead me somewhere. I heard keys jingling, his body rubbing against my back more.

A door opened. I got excited.

"This is our home."

I placed my hands over my small chest, taking everything in.
