over the course of one week, you move in all of your stuff completely, (with hoseok's help) and settle into your new home. surpisingly, you didn't go near your closet and you haven't touched the diary.

surprisingly.

but with each day that passes, ignoring the journal becomes harder and harder. now that you read the first entry your curiosity had piqued, and you find yourself glancing towards your wardrobe at least four times a day.

yes, it was someone else's diary, but really, what would be written that would be so terrible to read? with that thought in mind, you let your impulses control youand you hesitantly opened your closet door. there it was, just as you left it, sitting in the far left corner. you walk over and pick it up, and with one last breath, you open it.

dear diary,

    i really didn't think i would be writing in this again, but it's kind of calming. so, i moved into my new apartment today. it's quite nice, kind of small, but it's home. at least i could get away from my ex this way.

i'm going to have to start looking for a new job soon, i only have enough money to survive for a couple weeks. i heard there's a new coffee shop opening up, maybe they need staff. i'll go look tomorrow.

nothing else really happened today, i was just moving in by myself. so, i guess that's all. i think i'll keep writing in here.

    guess what? a new neighbor moved in today! i heard a crash from the apartment next to mine so i went over to see what happened, and the prettiest girl opened the door. she was shorter than me with hazel eyes, her hair was past her shoulders and she was wearing a white sweater. oh gosh, i hope i don't fall in love.

dear diary,

     so turns out, that new coffee shop did need new staff! so i applied. i'm waiting for a phone call right now on my bed. i don't have any experience with making drinks but i'll try my hardest. the employee who interviewed me was really kind, his name was park jimin. i hope i see him again.

update! i got the phone call. and guess what? i got the job! oh, i'm so happy. maybe i'll make some new friends there too!

dear diary,

     update on the girl next door. so, i made her a batch of blueberry muffins because i wanted to maybe get to know her more. she was so nice and invited me inside. there were still a lot of unpacked boxes and i asked if she needed help moving in. she said yes i asked her if i could help, and she said yes again! so, tomorrow, i'm coming over and helping her unpack. we ate the muffins on the floor of her dining room, talking about our interests and hobbies. it was like we had known each other for ages!

oh, her name is calla.

why was this so interesting? for some reason your found yourself hoping n.j would get the girl and they would happily fall in love like any fairytale. why did it feel like you were reading a novel? this was someone's life and you were reading it word for word. you needed to call hoseok.

once again, it only rings once before hoseok's bubbly voice filters through the speaker.

"hey y/n!"  oh wow you forgot how loud hoseok is.

"hey hobi!" you sigh and prepare yourself for a lecture. "so, i might've read more of the diary.." hoseok sighs and you wince.

"when i specifically told you not to! aish, what will i do with you." you smile and bite your lip.

"c'mon, i can't be that bad."

"yeah, that's what i thought too until you dyed my hair blond when you said it was going to be black."

"oh come on, that was ages ago!"

"still happened."

you and hoseok talk for a while more before he has to go and grade papers and you realize how late it is. you make yourself a quick instant ramen dinner before taking a shower and calling it a night. you would probably read more of the diary tomorrow, and you found yourself excited.

that night as you laid in your bed, you stared at the ceiling and imagined glow-up stairs sticking to the paint.
