beams of sunlight peek through the blinds in your bedroom, lining the room in gold. you groan as your eyes flutter open and you check the time on your phone.

6:24 a.m.

why were you awake?

bang! bang! bang!

ah, that's why. harsh knocks sounded from your front door in rapid succession, and you threw the covers off of your body and got up, grumbling. more urgent knocks rained on the door and you wanted to scream. who the hell was at the door? you just moved here, you didn't know anyone! it's too early for this. you made your way to the front door groggily, yawning.

"jin hyung i swear to god, let me in! if we are late to this meeting because of you i will never forgive you!"

your eyebrows knit together in confusion. who was 'jin'? you unlock the door and open it, squinting your tired eyes. however, they immediately widen upon seeing who is standing there. there's a man, probably a bit older than you, standing fully dressed in a suit and tie, holding a breifcase at his side. his hair is styled back professionally, and his look of pure shock and horror makes you want to laugh.

"oh my gosh, i am- so, so sorry. i-i thought this was my colleague's apartment number. i'm so sorry for disturbing your rest. i'll be going now." the man bows his head and backs away nervously, but you kind of want to know his name. totally not because he's hot.

"wait!" he stops and turns around. "what's your name?" the male smiles nervously and rubs his neck.

"jeongguk, what's yours?"

you smile, coming out of your sleep-induced state. "y/n. i hope you aren't late to your meeting, jeongguk." you tease and the boy goes red, nodding and chuckling anxiously.

you laugh and close your door, shaking your head. what a strange start to the morning.

.

after chasing away your boredom for half of the day, you flop on your bed and sigh. you don't have a job, hoseok is working, and you're stuck here. in your boring apartment. you move your head to the side and your eyes fall on the soft blue diary, and you smile. maybe you could read a couple more entries?

dear diary,

wow, i haven't written in this for a while, but a lot happened in the past week. for starters, i helped calla unpack all of her stuff, and now she's all moved in! i asked her if she could maybe help me, but she said she was busy. that's okay though, i don't have much stuff.

i started working at the coffee shop as a barista. it's...kind of fun. making drinks is a lot easier than i thought it would be, and jimin and i are talking more! he's really nice, and i think we're friends now? i've never really had any, so i'm not sure, but i hope we are. i'm very surprised at how easy i'm able to talk to him, usually my anxiety is too much for that, but jimin is a different story.

calla came over last night to see my apartment and hang out. i cooked her dinner, but it was a very easy dish as i can't cook that well. i had a friend that was really good at cooking, but we don't really talk anymore. that's okay though, not all friendships last forever. calla said she really enjoyed the meal and we talked for hours.

other than that, i think that's pretty much it. oh! i painted my bedroom walls! they were white, but now they are black. i flecked white paint over the black so that they kind of look like stars. i think it's pretty.

dear diary,

this month went by so fast. i moved in at the beginning of february, and now, at the end, i have a job, and two new friends. crazy. i really think this diary is helping me.

i feel the greatest i've ever felt in years.

sincerely; n.j

that's weird. all of the walls in the apartment were white, no trace of black in the bedroom. n.j probably just painted over it with white when he left, but still. you close the diary and run your fingers over the design on the cover, sighing. you wanted n.j to be happy. it sounds like he didn't have the best past, but things are looking up for him. you just hope that it stayed that way for him.
