first, my contours, that dress
victorian, with no presence
no magic bullet, there's no sanctity
running, kicking up sand in your step
the ocean humming like a fridge.
no turning back, one way mirror
swimming pool girls all glitter and deception,
you're a moth in tokyo at night, neon lights
the ceiling and the deep blue in your eyes.
the drone of the highway, carrion by the curb
nothing but a leaf caught in windscreen wipers, the role of your life in theirs.
beautiful girls like pendulums in strobe light
another meaningless fuck to bury instinct.
betrayed, used, trampled and chewed up
hell is other people, i know.
in the dark you can be anyone, anywhere.
overstimulation and solar flares
fireworks and video games.
adorn me like jewellery.
anything to feel the light leave your eyes.
you have to be dead to make a difference.every day is the same
musical dissonance, a broken string
as out of place as a kazoo at a funeral.
i'm a joke and i'm phoney.
wear clothes that don't fit, the doors don't shut.
i'll disappoint you, i'll annoy you
i've been in deep space with myself for too long
so i spend the day in bed. after all,
i'm not missing out on much.
my best friends have their own best friends
they're too polite.i dreamt we had an apartment in paris last night
neither of us speak french but we made it work.
why is it that my dreams are always sweeter than this?
