show me how tender you can be.
kisses with saliva, red LEDs
tear into me like rain striking the earth
after a famine, weakness in my knees.
i can no longer tell what belongs to you and what belongs to me
what you said or what i said.
that penguin classic by the bed
fingers entwined, even in these visions
explosions in the sky, nightmares in the attic.
i can't tell you where we're going,
we are all jigsaw pieces, random at first glance
and what's the point in being alive without problems to solve?
cut me up, waiting for the sky to open
put me back together on the other side.
possess me; you're not of this world
go get the exorcist, you shouldn't exist.
got me on strings, i can be your voice.
spun, buttons undone, still tangled
like wires, meanders in the circuit
sharing our warmth, intertwined
transmissions hot wired,
leave the old airs behind.
i remember the day we met,
outside the palace theatre
banners, boards and buses
reminders of a spring stemmed,
jilted music halls gathering dust, clubs
the death of the party. melodrama
curtains like walls, the new normal.
lyrics suspended in animation, static
flickering from white to black.
every time we touched, there were ashes
that left a residue on the embankment.
solution in the waves, peaks and troughs
suffocating something further down the river.
waking up is like a mental DDoS attack
but your love gives me clarity
enough to take art out of the dark.
home alone, i listen to your moans echo
leaves turning as they decay to gold dust,
slow dancing in my front room to AM.
sounds too good to be real because it is.
we've gone too far, my life in two.
i worry because you raise me up
next thing i know is vertigo
spilling open like egg shells smacking concrete
having fallen in love with you.
