Chapter 7
Rose sat down to her first pack dinner at the Black Moon Pack, she seemed quite nervous. Her hands were sweaty as she fiddled with them in her lap. Luke could hear her breathing and heart rate increasing and took her left hand in his right. Turning to look at Luke, she smiled.
"You'll be fine, trust me" he smiled back.
"But, I-I'm terrible at speaking to knew people" she complained.
"You talked to me fine" Ge pointed out to her.
"Yeah but that was only a few words, not a whole conversation, we haven't even had a proper conversation yet. What am I going to do?" She worried, tears brimming her eyes.
"Hey, don't cry you'll be fine, I'll do the talking" he said in a calming voice.
"O-Ok" she said calming down slightly. The doors flung open, making Rose jump and turn towards the door, but only to turn back instantly lowering her gaze to her lap. Luke sighed and squeezed her hand, in reassurance. She turned her head slightly and smiled, took a deep breath and looked up. A tall curly haired boy sat down in front of her, dressed in a long sleeved black t-shirt and a black bandana holding back his golden curls. He smiled widely at her with a giggle. "You must be Rose!" He exclaimed and she nodded, not sure how to react, to which he frowned and her facial expression faltered slightly. She knew this would happen, he's going to hate her, think she's weird, never get to know the real her.
"She's a bit shy Ash" Luke told Ash, to her relief.
"Oh, ok I'm Ashton or Ash, up to you." He told her.
She nodded "I'm Rose."
"How did you find you way here?" He asked curiously and Rose's heart beat increased yet again.
"Uh um I-I u-h" she stuttered and looked up to Luke, she hadn't even told him yet. Ashton looked between the two waiting for a reply, but realising he wasn't going to get one.
"It's alright, I get that it's personal, maybe I'll find out another day" he said and they both nodded. Luke squeezed Rose's hand again as a woman with blonde hair sat down at the end of the table, next to Rose, who looked a lot like Luke.
"Hi I'm Liz, Luke's mum"Liz introduced holding out her hand.
"H-hi I'm Rose, Luke's mate" she smiled but her smile changed to a confused look at Liz's hand.
"You're supposed to shake your hands, like this" Luke said shaking his mum's hand.
"Oh" Rose said taking her hand.
Liz smiled at her "So you're from England am I right?"
Rose nodded "And umm, sorry if this seems stupid, but where am I?" Rose asked.
Luke's, Ashton's, Liz's and now Michael's, who had sat next to Ashton, eyes widened.
"What do you mean you don't know where you? You're in Australia" Michael replied astonished.
"I uh I've never heard of Australia before" Rose said.
"Never?" Luke said.
"Never" Rose replied.
"What has school taught you in all these years?" Liz asked.
"What's school?" Rose questioned, scrunching her face up in confusion.
In shock, Ashton said"Where have you been all your life?"
"The Wild" she replied, everyone gasped and Luke snatched his hand away from Rose's, she looked up at Luke's disgusted expression. She looked around at everyone, all their expressions disgusted. Rose looked to her lap, her new start is already ruined and it's only day two.
"I-I'm sorry" she said and got up walking away as fast as she could. She's seen that look on too many faces, all directed to her, just because she was different. It's so unfair. All she's ever wanted was to be accepted but it never worked, she always managed to ruin it. She reached the two large doors, of the house. It was either run, like she always does, or go back in there and face her problems for once. Settling for the easy option, she reached for the handle and began turning it, opening the door. A cool autumns breeze blew through her hair, sighing she remembered what it felt like to run in the wind, the one thing she loved, her escape. Taking a step out the door, a hand grabbed her arm and pulled her back in. Scared she tried to pull away, but it was no use, his grip was too tight.
"Let me go Luke" she complained, tears brimming her eyes.
"No, you can't go, your my mate" He stated.
"But you all hate me, I'm from the WILD!" She shouted, instantly regretting it, she cowered away scared. In England, she would've definitely got a slap from the Alpha. But nothing came, slowly she raised her head to see Luke looking upset and worried.
"D-did you think I was going to hit you?" He asked confused and worried, Rose just looked at him wide eyed. "You did didn't you?" He asked upset "I would never hurt, never" he said sitting down on the sofa next to the doors, head in his hands sniffling. "I can't believe you thought I would hit you" he shook his head and Rose sat next to him astonished. "Why would you think that I would?" He asked.
"I-um at home, well England, if I ever raised my voice to anyone, I would be slapped" she said and Luke's head shot up.
"Don't tell me they hurt you more than that! Why did they do it?" He asked worried and checking her for Bruises but they had healed already.
"No they didn't and I'm fine. They just didn't really like me" she said hanging her head low, clearly not telling the whole truth but Luke didn't know that.
"Why?" He asked and she shrugged.
"I-I guess I was just different and uh, nothing" she said regretting it.
"How are you different?" He asked and she sighed happily he didn't hear the last of what she said.
"I'm a-a rare wolf and they don't accept werewolves like that, they believe we don't belong in the wolf world, so they made my life a misery" but half of that was her fault, not just the colour of her wolf but no one needed to know that,
"You're a rare wolf? That's so cool, my mate is a rare wolf!" He said astonished and she smiled, maybe she would be accepted here.
"They're stupid for not accepting you, it's amazing to be a rare wolf" he smiled widely pulling her into a hug and she hugged him back instantly. "C'mon, let's go back" he said pulling her to her feet. Rose reluctantly nodded and let Luke pull her back to the meal, in hope they would accept her.

As they entered the room fell silent and all heads turned towards them, a few growling at Rose. She hung her head in shame taking a seat where she once was, receiving glares from many.
"What're you all looking at?" Luke asked angrily"so what she's from the wild but she's my mate and there is nothing you can do about that, so accept her for who she is instead of judging her!" he growled. The room stayed silent as Luke sat down next to Rose."Tuck in everyone" Luke told them as three women in their mid twenties laid down their plates. Filled to the rim with roast potatoes, chicken, stuffing, vegetables and yorkshire puddings: the ingredients to a perfect roast dinner. Rose sighed in relief and looked around at everyone using two silver objects to pick up their food with. She nudged Luke who looked at her.
"What are these" she asked holding up the knife and fork in her hands with a confused look.
"They're cutlery, you use them to eat with. Like this" Luke replied grabbing Rose's hands in his own and cutting a potato in half, then feeding it to her.
"Oh, thank you" she nodded and attempted to repeat Luke's actions, which she failed as a pea flew of her plate onto Ashton's. Luckily he didn't notice but Luke giggled next to her and told her to keep trying, that she'll get there in the end.
