For the next two weeks I stayed at home because I couldn't bring myself to get up and go to school. Everyday after school Darius would come over and try to cheer me up for a bit and then at the appropriate time, leave. Before I knew it, it was time for Paige's funeral. I didn't want to go because I knew it would hurt to see her in a casket, but I decided it would be best if I went. I decided to invite Darius to come with me so I can be comforted when I start crying.I hear a knock on the door. It must be Darius. I go to the door and open it, I was right, Darius is standing there wearing a black tux for the funeral.
Darius: "Raymond! Hey buddy! I love your tuxedo, it's very fancy and it makes you look really good.."
I blush a bit
Raymond: "Thank you, Darius.. I just wish I didn't have to wear it for the reason I'm wearing it.."
Darius: "Yeah.. again, I am so sorry for your loss.."
Raymond: "Nah, it's alright.. it'll heal over time.."
At least I hope it'll heal over time
Darius: "Well.. may I come in?"
Raymond: "Oh! Yeah. Sure."
Darius: "Thanks."
Darius steps inside and hugs me for a few seconds and then let's go
Darius: "Sorry! I'm a hugging type of guy."
Raymond: "That's alright.. I needed the hug.."
My mom starts walking towards the door
Carrie: "Come on Raymond and Darius.. let's go.."
Raymond: "Alright Mom.."
Darius: "Yes ma'am."
With that Darius, my mom, and I headed to the car, got in, and started to drive off to my sister's funeral.
Soon we got to the funeral and we stepped inside just in time because a few minutes later, it started.
They called my mom up to say a few words after a little bit and so she went up there and started talking about all the memories of my sister. She started to cry and seeing her so sad and remembering the memories made me start to cry. Luckily Darius was there because he saw me start to cry and held me allowing me to cry on his shoulder. After a little bit my mom was done talking and she tried to get me to say a few words but I declined because I couldn't stop crying and I wouldn't be able to talk. Soon the funeral was over and people were leaving. I look over to the door and see a guy drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. He looks familiar. He's a demon. I can't tell what kind because a shadow is on his face but he's definitely a demon. I decide to brush it off and go home with my mom and Darius.
We get home and my mom goes to her room to be alone for a bit. Me and Darius go and sit on the couch and begin talking.
Darius: "I'm glad I could be there to support you in these hard times.."
Raymond: "I'm glad you could be there too.. thanks Darius.."
Darius: "No problem!"
I go to the kitchen and grab a plastic cup
Raymond: "Would you like some water, Darius?"
Darius: "Sure!"
I grab another plastic cup and fill them both with water and then go back out to the living room and give Darius his water and I sit down with mine
Raymond: "So how's your mom and dad?"
Darius: "They're doing good!"
Raymond: "Yeah?"
