Gigi did the last button on her blouse. Her outfit today was as thoughtfully put together as any other day. She wore her long brunette hair in a high ponytail and her nude eye shadow matched her yellow plaid skirt and button-up jacket.

She heard the honking of the car outdoors and she picked up her bag and her school books before running out of her room and downstairs. She gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and her father a hug. She then waved them goodbye as she headed out the front door. There she was met with the good morning greetings of her friends. Nicky, Jackie, Jan and Gigi had been friends since childhood. They were all good girls that studied for their tests and didn't stay out past curfew. That was the life they were living, and they were all fine with it. None of them had though about breaking their habits and their ways for something riskier. But recently curiosity peaked inside of Gigi.

Once they arrive at school in Jan's yellow Mercedes they park the car and head inside. They talk about upcoming tests and at whose place they will do their study groups, then they all bid each other goodbye as they all head to their classes.

Gigi studies fashion and design. It's the one spark of individuality she can get in this clone-like world. She can get to put some of her into a piece of fabric and make it something more.

Gigi entered the classroom where the white desks stood in the perfect horseshoe angle. The open window in the back let the cool air in and it fluttered through the yellow curtains. Gigi sighed and played with her hair as she listened to the teacher talk about the periodic system. Gigi took notes and listened carefully, but she could not help her mind from drifting off. Sometimes she wishes she was like a balloon. She could drift off wherever the wind decided to take her. She could be free of this boring lifestyle.

After her very normal class she met up with her friends again for a very normal conversation about what they had gone through in their separate time. Then they all bid their very normal goodbyes again and headed to their second, also very normal periods.

Sometimes Gigi didn't understand how people found life worth living like this. She wondered if there were others like her that didn't enjoy their perfect lives. Maybe, just maybe there would be someone to rock her world up, just maybe.

"-gi... Gigi?" She snapped out of her bubble and looked over at Jan sitting opposite her. She gave Gigi a concerned look before continuing. "Which do you think work better for a birthday party? Sunflowers or yellow tulips?"

Gigi though for a second before answering. "Use Begonias instead."

Jan nodded slowly. She didn't hate the idea of begonias. She proceeded to talk to Jackie about other decorations she wanted there, like helium balloons and tablecloths.

Gigi spaced out again staring down at her long nails. Her mother had painted them for her, shiny and yellow. She wondered what difference it would make if she decided to paint them pink instead. If she could get her hands on any pink nail polish that is.

She felt the sudden elbow on her arm and Nicky caught her attention. "Are you alright, hun?" Nicky asked and placed a reassuring hand on Gigi's arm.

Gigi smiled and shook her head. "I'm great, i just didn't get a lot of sleep last night."

Nicky smiled and nodded. She fished through her purse for a certain paper she would give to Gigi. It was the contact information of Dr. Horn.

"Dr. Horn is great! He can help you with anything. If you can't sleep for much longer i recommend going to him. He gave me these yellow sleeping pills!" She said and showed Gigi a small yellow can of heart-shaped pills in it. "If you want to borrow one i can give it to you, so don't be shy and ask." The french girl gave Gigi a big smile and Gigi forced a smile back.

Once she got home she grabbed a piece of toast and covered it with cheese and orange marmalade. She ate it as she made her way to her room. Her room was her safe space. The room was covered in white wallpaper and pictures from wall to wall of her family, her cat, her friends and relatives. They showed happy moments from her life that she liked to think back to. Her favorite was a picture of her holding a big salmon with her dad behind her looking like a proud father. That day at the sea was something she would never forget.

She slumped down in her bed after finishing her toast. Life wore her out and she didn't know how she was supposed to take it anymore. She wished for something, or someone to make her life more colorful.

She drifted off to sleep on top of her covers and she dreamed of chaos.
