MIND BLOCK
PART ONE:
The six pupils gathered in the entrance to the South Wing. Unlike most places with North, East, South and West Wings, they were all separate. Several different buildings not attached to the main part of the school. Cory now realised why. So the people who remember don't interact with the ones who don't remember... His eyes widened.
"You okay, dude?" Tommy asked, seeing the expression on Cory's face.
"Yeah, just a realisation, that's all."
"Go on..." Tommy was eager to find out what Cory was thinking, but they got interrupted.
"Glad you all made it on time... Just." Headmaster Charleston said. Or more like announced with an eyebrow raised. "Okay, I've got six of you and four free rooms, so four of you are with a existing student and the other two are rooming together." He glanced down at his sheet. "Ada Smith and Eva Moritz, step forward?"
Eva and Ada took a step forward gingerly. "Here, sir." They both said.
"You two are on the Ground Floor, Hallway B - Room 5." He stood aside to let them past. "I trust you'll find your way there no problem. You two are very bright girls."
Eva sighed and rolled her eyes. She and Ada walked through the double doors into the lobby. Each wing was almost like a mini-hotel. A lobby with a reception, hallways and elevators on each side, with a stairwell next to the reception.
"Hi girls." A small woman behind the desk in the reception area smiled brightly. "Can I take your names please?"
"Ada Smith."
"Eva Moritz."
The woman took out a stack of paper, all stapled down the edges to resemble a book. "Okay, I have you to marked as in the building. If you go out for lessons or anything you have to sign out just here." She tapped her pen on the wad of paper, indicating where to sign. "Your name here, time you left, where you've gone, and lastly, the time you get back. You can find Hallway B just through these doors to the left and take the first right, and room five should be on your right." She smiled.
"Okay, thanks Miss." Ada said.
"Oh, call me Laura."
Outside, Cory was told he would be on Floor 2, Hallway A - Room 5. He too signed in and Laura gave him vague directions to his room. Apparently he was sharing with Liam Conway. Whoever he was.
Tommy was on Floor 2, Hallway B - Room 7. After signing in and being told the rules of leaving and returning, Laura told him he had a room to himself. Thank the lord... He thought to himself.
The last two pupils, Adriana and Lee were both on the Third Floor, Hallway C. Adriana in room 4 and Lee in room 8. They were given time to unpack and settle in.
On each floor at the end of the last Hallway, there was a small kitchen which was only for the students to use. Each kitchen had a fridge, stove, kettle, pots of tea, hot chocolate and coffee, cups plates and cutlery. At the very far end of the kitchen, there were three washing machines.
