PHYSICAL

PART ONE:

They were told to find Coach Dean out on the field at first, then for the second half, they would be inside. The first lap of the field had almost wiped Eva out, but with two hours of Physical to get through and the look on Coach Dean's face, she knew she could not complain.

"So, how does this help?" She asked Ada.

"Just a warm up."

"Then I'm dreading the rest of the lesson." Eva complained quietly, to avoid the wrath of Coach Dean. He was either a very wound up man, or he just had a face like he'd just sucked a sour lemon all the time.

"I heard its a lot of climbing, running... all that sort of stuff. And the best part... Learning how to use a sword." Ada's eyes lit up.

"All I'm looking forward to is this party later... Wait, did you say swords?"

"Interested now aren't you." Ada smiled. "I'll be honest, that's what twisted my arm about all this too."

Although the day had been warm, a few spots of rain began to descend from the slowly darkening sky. The air still felt a little warm, humid. "Storm." Cory said. "I can feel it. Gotta love a good storm, right?" He turned to Tommy who also had his eyes glued to the sky.

"Oh, yeah, I love them. But kinda glad we're heading inside now. I like storms but I don't fancy getting struck by lightening."

The inside training was a lot easier than Cory had thought. Climbing apparatus was Tommy's favourite, until he noticed the ball in the centre of the room, a little bigger than a football. "Oh God, I hope that's for dodge-ball."

"Tommy. You'll be pleased to hear that is correct. You all need to practice on your speed and agility, to avoid attacks where possible. I will leave you all to have a go on whichever you would like, I'll take down notes on what I think you need to improve on so I can set you some goals to reach in your next lessons. Remember, practising outside of lesson time is also a very good idea." Coach Dean told everyone.

Outside, the sky grew darker and a rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance. The rain started pelting down on the roof of the Physical Training hall. It got so loud that Coach Dean couldn't even hear the chatter from the students as they trained. The hadn't had a prediction for a thunder storm, but the flowers and plants growing around the gardens here would appreciate it.

PART TWO:

After training had ended, Tommy ended up in the shower in his dorm room, instead of using the communal ones in the training hall by the swimming pool. He chose himself something to wear for the party later, and sat down at his desk looking through the book from Miss Bowen's class this morning.

The symbol he and Eva practised was starting to look familiar. Maybe they had drawn it so many times it was now etched into his mind. The storm outside was still going strong and he was pulled out of his thoughts by a crash of thunder followed almost immediately by a blast of lightening.

Someone knocked on his door. "Hold on a moment." He called. He took off the towel he had tied around his waist and got himself dressed. He had opted for a tight black button down shirt, and a pair of black skinny jeans, with a pair of black pumps.

"What the hell are you doing in there?" Eva called from outside the door.

"It's okay, you can come in now."

The door swung open to reveal Eva and Cory standing side by side. "Ready for the party?"

"Yeah, just give me a minute to do my hair and I'll be done."

"You're worse than a woman." Eva joked.

Tommy ignored this comment and started applying gel to his hair to spike it up. The top button on his shirt was open, revealing a thick silver chain.

"You hoping to impress someone tonight?"

"What? No!" Tommy defended himself.

"Hm." Eva shrugged. "That's a shame." She smirked as she began walking down the hallway in front of the boys.

"What doe she mean by that?" Tommy whispered to Cory.

"I have no idea. Girls are a mystery to me."
