So this story takes place in the Marauder's + Lily's sixth year. In my mind, James and Lily bonded while they were trying to get Sirius and Remus together. More on that later. Anyway, this is shortly after Wolfstar finally goes cannon. 

~James POV~

Sirius paces in front of me, waving his arms around haphazardly and yelling at the top of his lungs. "That git! What does he know!" 

I sit on my bed with my legs crossed, my eyes following Sirius' form go back and forth furiously. 

Let me explain. Earlier today, Snape had made some snide comment about Remus and Sirius, and Sirius and I would've hexed him into next century if Remus hadn't grabbed us by the backs of our robes and dragged us to our dorm. I was seething, but Sirius blew up completely. Moony had glanced at me and I had nodded. I understood that I had to keep my cool to help calm Sirius before he went and murdered Snape. Disappointing, because I would've gladly helped. Recently, Sirius has become even more protective of Moony. Which is saying something. 

I stare blankly at the floor. Getting them together was most likely the most infuriating and fun thing I've done in my life. Lily and I joined forces, and that was so much fun, but the twats wouldn't get it. Sirius came to me and confessed his crush about two years ago. Lily told me she had a similar conversation with Remus. I was so close to just locking them in a broom closet for a week. (weren't we all James) 

Pads is still yelling. I want to talk to him, but Moony knows him best, so if he's not doing anything, I don't think I should either. Speaking of Remus, he's curled up on his bed reading Hogwarts a History. Again. I'm not even surprised anymore. Peter is watching Sirius from his bed with an almost scared expression on his face. I don't exactly blame him. 

Remus finally speaks up. Nice timing. It's been a solid 10 minutes. "Pads." He calls. 

Sirius continues storming around. "And he thinks he can just-"

"Padfoot!" 

"I should've just hexed him yesterday!"

"Siri!"

"He was right there by the Charms classroom!"

"Sirius!" 

"One good Levicorpus would've done it!"

"SIRIUS!" 

"WHAT?!" Sirius says, turning on the spot. Remus isn't fazed. 

"Shut up." He holds one arm out toward Padfoot without looking up from his book. Sirius just strides over and nestles in next to Remus, calming down slightly. 

I smile and beckon Peter to the door, getting up quietly myself. They're so cute. 

That they are James. So I like to think that Jily got together trying to get Wolfstar together. Lily sees how much James cares about his friends, and that's what made her start to realize she likes him. 

That, and that Remus and Sirius constantly pester her about it.
