bruh-
y/n placed her phone back onto her bed and opened the glass doors. she felt the cool evening breeze on her s/c face, making her smile softly. her soft footsteps patted against the metal platform as she rested her hands on the iron bars. she looked down to see...
nobody.
nobody was there.
she sighed, thinking it was just a dumb joke. or maybe he got the wrong balcony, she thought. there were two balconies in her place, one in her room and one in her dad's.
'oh shit kid's at my dad's room!'
she ran out of her balcony and zoned her way into her dad's room. she saw the taller man looking down at his balcony, talking to an annoyed kid.
"no, tell y/n!"
"oh okay."
he looked behind him and saw his shorter daughter, trying to catch her breath. "oh hi dad!" she waved rapidly at him with a smile. he could tell she was in a manic episode so he softly smiled and spoke.
"i'm going to prom with your friend."
"WHAT-"
she ran over to the platform and looked down an kid, face palming, and his weapon, liz, holding a sign. patty was nowhere to be seen.
"jesus christ," he muttered to himself, a bit aggravated. he looked up to glare at stein and met the e/c eyes of his longtime crush. his sour expression was replaced with a blush and a smile. "oh hi y/n!" he waved. liz waved at her also."you tryna cop feelings for my dad?!" she asked, teasing him. his eyes widened. "what?! hell no! i'm just asking if you wanna go to prom with me!" he explained, pointing at liz who held the sign. y/n could clearly see that liz made the sign since the handwriting was neat and not erased over five hundred times.
she read the sign and started laughing. "holy fuck! that's actually good." she gave a thumbs up and kept giggling. kid looked over at the sign and read it, finally realizing what the sign said. his jaw dropped and he began to yell at liz.
'CAN I EAT YOU OUT A PROM?'
stein just rolled his eyes and walked away, not wanting anything to do with this. she finished her giggle fit and looked him dead in the eye.
(and said hey brian if you still believe in the lord above-)
"of fucking course i will, you dumbass!" she nodded, actually taking the chance to realize that she should be happy. kid's eyes lit up as he smiled widely. "your stupid sign worked!" he told liz. he looked back at the girl with hearts in his eyes. "i'll grab you at 6 tomorrow night!" he yelled at her.
she nodded. "great! i'll see you then!" she waved him goodbye as liz dragged him away. she sighed happily and started to walk back to her room. that was before her father got a hold of her shoulder.
she looked back at him, confused. "so he likes you, huh?" he asked her, his glasses shining. she shrugged. "probably not. i'm not symmetrical enough for him, i think," she simply replied.
"then why the hell did he ask you?" he questioned. she thought for a moment before answering. "because i'm one hell of a date, dad." "wrong fandom." "oops."
he let go of her shoulder and sighed. "go find a dress for tomorrow night. maybe you have one lying around in your closet or something," he told her and walked away. she jus smiled and skipped to her room, locking the door behind her and shuffling through her clothes.
spoilers: she couldn't find a single dress.
