The Waterbender in New York

Katara's PoV 

The time for the next full moon was near  and honestly I was excited to go on a long journey again. Although this time it doesn't involve a egoistical man child chasing after us. (book 1 Zuko) This time it doesn't involve Aang which I wonder about that , but Yue will fill me in about that when we're in the spirit world. Honestly though what Yue told even though it wasn't much sounded like a breath of fresh air to me. 

Besides that after a few weeks of teaching, attending council meetings  and of course preparing for the next meeting with Yue I almost forgot what Yue had request for me to bring with me , but fortunately Pakku came from the North Pole on Appa with another small vial of spirit water when I told him it was for showing the children. He was a bit skeptical at first , but he let it slide. 

Honestly even Sokka was starting to act suspicious of my behavior for the first couple of weeks , but I told him it was due to the stress of being ambassador that I was acting this way so and he stopped prying. Although he said whenever it was too much for me I can always ask him for help. Which I was grateful for his help ,but at the same time feeling guilty for not telling him the truth.  

But I have no time for that I need to be ready for tonight. After that I finished packing the only things that I would need to bring to the future since so I needed to pack light which are a few of my water bending scrolls, waterskins and the small vial of spirit water. With that out of the way I'm thinking of letting Zuko and the council know that I'll be gone for a while , but I then remembered what Yue said that I can't tell anyone. 

I was frustrated at first , but well if the moon spirit came to you one night and told you ,that somewhere in the far future that the heroes are losing and you could be the only one to save them. Honestly I can see why she doesn't want to tell anyone. 

Anyways the time for meeting Yue and going to the spirit world is almost near is almost excited since I felt like I had something to do again. Don't get me wrong I love teaching children on how to heal and to defend themselves , but it gets old if I do it for a while especially and they seem like they'll be able to do it without my guidance. Anyways after I packed everything I needed I realized that the moon was full and it started to rise as well. 

I turned around my room the very room that I grew up in and the furs, a bunch of my waterbending scrolls, tunics as well dresses and jewelry from different suitors that had gifted me whenever they visited the south pole for negotiations decorating the room.  

I sighed while I walked out of the family igloo with my stuff in hand, but I have to be careful since Sokka was out patrolling tonight while Dad is out visiting the North Pole. So I wasn't sure if Sokka would be coming this way when he's patrolling. I looked around the  village until the coast was clear and then I went around the back of the igloo and went towards the area where I talked with Yue last time.

"Guess it's goodbye for now" I said quietly as I got closer to the area.
