Katara's POV

Several  months had passed since I had been taken in by the O'Neils. Although it wasn't smooth sailing at first since my adoptive sister April wasn't to fond of me , but things got better from there.

I  remember bits and pieces during the car-ride with Mr. O'Neil about him telling me some facts about April. From what he told me, she seems really nice. Although  I was a little nervous about the cautious part, but Mr. O'Neil told me there is a reason she's so cautious especially around new people. I wanted to ask about it ,but when I saw the hint of sadness expressed on his face I decided it would be best not to ask about it........for now anyways.

We arrived to the tall apartment building  from what I gathered is what most people live in now. If you're wondering how I know this, it's because Yue had given me a crash course about this era while I was spending the last day at the Hospital recovering. When we went inside to Mr. O'Neil's home, there was a girl who could be perhaps close to my age (perhaps 15 or 16 years old). She had Mr. O'Neil's features, but with the exception of a few things. Like her eyes that were big and almost doll-like and her lips that were small and delicate.

I realized that was my adoptive sister April, I mean who else could it be? When she first saw me. The expression she had was stern, with her arms crossed while walking slowly towards me. I thought she was gonna me give the "bully welcome speech". From  what Aang had told me when he was posing as a student at a firenation school, when we were still in hiding at the time.

Instead of being greeted by a harsh welcome like Aang had. I was greeted with a tight hug from my now on f-foster sister? (Still getting used to the speaking terms of this time line)

Ever since then, I've been living with my new family. Who also helped me adjust to this new life... since I'm posing as a orphan girl that wasn't allowed to go outside of the orphanage and also has no memory of my said previous life I Lived. Mr.O'Neil (I'm not ready to call him dad yet)and April have helped me quite a lot for me getting used to my new surroundings, April especially.

My bedroom was beautiful...it made me feel like I wasn't home sick for my era for a moment. The walls were painted a light shade of blue resembling the sky during broad daylight, it makes me think about the times where I looked at the sky back at home while we were riding on Appa all over the world. The closet where I can store all my new clothes ( and possibly bending scrolls that I can write) was big and it had two big sliding doors for me to access the outfits that I thought were too fancy to wear every day , as well two drawers that appeared to be made out of the same materials that a basket would be of. The bed was covered in comfortable looking sheets and pillows with the color violet covering them and a nightstand with a lamp that appears doesn't need oil to properly function.

I loved it I might've shed a few tears due to happiness. Mr. O'Neil told they didn't decorate it because they wanted me to have creative range on what I want to hang on those walls. He also apologized that he and April weren't able to buy me clothes while I was still in the hospital ,but I didn't mind. It gave me the opportunity to go shopping for clothes with my Foster sister.

Since my tunic got torn up pretty badly due to the rough landing as it turns out ,from what Yue had told me. I also thought that it was time to shop for some new clothes. Before we went shopping. April had let me borrowed some of her clothes she accidentally bought that were to big for her, but for some reason I have the slight suspicion she bought those clothes on purpose. After shopping most  of my wardrobe consists of yoga pants, sports bras, sweat pants, tank tops and a few hoodies. April was slightly curious ,until I told her that the orphanage I was from was very neglected and I was perhaps the only person who tried to keep it together.
