PRESENT DAY

12 days after the accident.

"Hey...gummy bear" my dad says sitting beside me "I've got some news" he says while he drops his cup of coffee and takes his newspaper under his arm.

"It's about Jayden" he says places the newspaper on his lap and squeezing my hand.

"We saw this article about a man who was stabbed to death multiple times by the mother of his child, we went through it and we found out it was Jayden...they tried to help him but, it was too late.." he pauses for a little bit as if letting it sink in, I was in a state of shock, I didn't know whether to feel relieved or sad that he was gone, it was like a huge weight has been taken off my shoulders "did you know he had a one year old son?, you both must have been together when he had this son, and some other women also claim to have children with him...it's a mess, my dear- I know you liked him a lot, even though I didn't I'm still sorry, your mum said I shouldn't tell you but I just thought you had to know"

Thank you dad.

I really needed to know.

"Did he get a choice?" I say to Michael who had suddenly appeared beside me.

"Some people don't deserve to make a choice, we make it for them-" he says with a look of compassion on his face "you don't have to worry... he's gone for good"

"Oh..."

I'd never thought that I'd ever be free of him but now that I knew he was gone- I didn't know how to feel, it was like the dam finally broke and all the tears I've been keeping in finally escape.

Michael willingly made contact with me for the first time, his arms went around me as I cried into his arms.

"I made an appointment for a doctor to come see you" Jayden says as he wraps his hands around me and kisses my forehead.

He had just come back from his trip and we were relaxing after dinner.

"Why?"

"No reason...to see if everything is okay with you...that's all..."

"Oh...who's the doctor?"

"One of my many close friends, he's going to do a thorough examination on you to make sure everything's fine, you don't have to worry"

"Okay..."I say

I and Jayden have been together for eight months and we were happy, although I missed my family- Jason assures me it will soon be over and once the one year's up, I could see them all again, we told each other everything, we had no secrets- well, I had...I still haven't told him that I'm on birth control, our sex life was great, he was always careful, always using a condom- one night I slipped up and told him he didn't need one but he shushed me and told me we had to be careful, basically he was the best-the only thing was that he travelled a lot because of work and he didn't let me go outside, our house had everything I needed and he made sure I got taken care of but his one condition is that I shouldn't go out and I shouldn't interact with anyone especially my family but I just couldn't, so I was secretly friends with my neighbor Martha- she was older than me but she loved me and would always keep me company anytime Jayden was away.
