       Everest's POV

Hmm. That feeling. The wonderful feeling I get in the pit of my stomach every time I see him. It's like butterflies, but the butterflies are going unnecessarily lunatic.

        "Ev."

"Hmm," I hummed as I looked at my best friend, Hannah. She was the twin of my other best friend, Ethan, who I mentioned before. I love Hannah, I really do. She's a great friend, and is always there, but our friendship doesn't even compare to what Ethan and I have.

Ethan and I get each other.

"You're doing it again," said Hannah as she took the keys out of the ignition, and sat back, relaxing in the driver's seat.

"Doing what?" I asked, completely unaware of what she was talking about.

"Thinking of my brother." She playfully poked my side.

"Ehh, you're right," I said nonchalantly. I'm blunt and honest with Hannah. I am too, with Ethan, but not about him. That's just weird.

She shook her head with a smile on her face, and stepped out of the vehicle, so I did too.

School. Hell no. Hannah stood by me as we walked towards 'our group'. Ethan was already at school, because of basketball practice in the mornings.

"Hey Ev," said Ethan. Hmm. The butterflies.

        "Hey Ethan."

He pulled me in for a hug. God, I loved his hugs. He pulled away first, but I embraced him again. He just chuckled.

"Sorry," I said as I pulled away. "I'm cold." It was the beginning of December.

He looked down at me, and smiled. "I have a hoodie in my locker. Come with me to go get it."

He told our group of friends that we'll be back.

Ethan was always lending me his hoodies. I even have two somewhere in my closet.

As we walked up to his locker, Lauren was already leaning against his locker with her back facing us, texting.

He wraps his arms around her tiny waist from behind, and she squeals with delight. He sets her down, and kisses her cheek with a goofy grin on his face. He leans in close, and whispers something in her ear, and she blushes.

Lauren and Ethan have been dating for a little over ten months now. You see, it's hard to even consider hating Lauren. She's sweet, funny, gorgeous, and doesn't think of me as a threat. There have been times when I wish she did. I feel like I'm not thought of as a threat, because it's so obvious Ethan doesn't think of me like that. It hurts. It doesn't hurt as much as it does, when he'll call on a Sunday night, asking if he can have some condoms. He knows I don't need them.

Lauren smiles at me, and says hi. I say hi back. Same shit everyday.

Ethan opens his locker, and hands me his hood. I mutter a thanks, and start to put it on. God, it smells just like him. A mixture of cologne, chocolate, and woods.

"Oh crap, babe, I was gonna ask to wear that hoodie," whines Lauren.

I decide to ignore her, and continue putting on the hood. I simply nod, and avoiding eye contact, I walk away. That is, until I felt a hand grab my elbow, and stop me. It felt as if an electric current was starting from my elbow, and traveling throughout my body. Man, I have it bad. I turn around to see a guilty look on Ethan's face.

"Everest, do you think you could let Lauren wear my hoodie for today," he asks. I look away from him, and look at a guilty Lauren looking at the ground.

I just nod, and quickly remove the hoodie. I walk away, not looking up, and run into a hard chest.

I look up to see Christian, one of Ethan's basketball friends.

"Hey, what's wrong," he questions, worryingly.

Ethan and I became friends in middle school. I didn't always feel this way about him. I liked boys before him, and Christian was one of them. He's still cute. With his black hair, greenish hazel eyes, and great sense of humor, he could get any girl. He was good with the ladies. Of course, he wasn't as good looking and loving as Ethan, but he was still a nice guy.

"Nothing." I shrugged and began to walk away.

"You know, it's pretty obvious." That made me stop walking away.

"How?" I simply asked without even turning around to face him.

"Woah, chill, I'm kidding," he says while nervously chuckling. With that, I finally turn around to face him.

        "Well, how do you know?"

"Wha- wait, I'm referring to you clearly wanting to wear his hoodie," he says while raising his hands in surrender.

I guess my facial expression gave away my confusion, because he explains. "My locker is next to Ethan's."

I just shrug and began to walk away when the bell rings. I head for my first class, but get stopped for what feels like the hundredth time today.

        "Wait."

"Oh my god, dude, what now?" He just chuckles at my outburst, and throws his jacket at me. He just nods, and then walks away.

Like I said, he was good with the ladies.
