The Night Before

A/N: Now don't yell at me please! I skipped a day because you could argue Hermione spends a day in the Hospital Wing and no one really wants a filler chapter when you can get to the real thing :) I am aware that this is very rushed but I promise that it is my excitedness showing through for the next chapter.

Hermiones Pov

My alarm goes off and I reach across to turn it off. Siting up and yawning I am happy to be back in my own bed after spending another whole day in the Hospital Wing. Then my heart sinks. Ah, tomorrow is when everything all kicks off.

My stomach sinks and my ears begin to ring. It was only when a snowy owl flies in and lands in front of me that I snap out of my pity party.

'Hedwig.' I acknowledge softly. She holds out her leg and waits for me to take the letter. She gives a toot and flies off not expecting me to reply obviously. Unravelling the parchment is a letter from Harry.

Hermione

I really wanted to see you, I heard what happened. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you wanted to see it Malfoy hadn't moved from your side after he caught you in lessons. I guess that means you guys are speaking again huh?

I am just glad that you are okay, I am not sure if you meant to do it or if it wasn't part of a plan but I really panicked so the relief I felt when Malfoy slipped me a note in potions the next day saying that you had awoken brought me a sense of relief. Then when I heard you were out of the hospital wing I wanted to visit you but by then curfew was on and I didn't want to wake you. So I have been awake for the last 2 hours debating whether or not I should send you an owl this early in the morning but Hedwig seemed eager enough to go for me so I assumed that she should probably wait for you to wake if necessary.

I understand that the plan will be in full action still and that makes this the day the last day before everything turns to shit. I just want you to know that I really enjoy spending time with you and I hope when this is all over you will let me take you out sometime?

His letter was heartfelt and sweet and it warmed me up a little. Just as I carefully fold up the letter and put it to the side Ginny comes bouncing in.

'Hey Hermione.' She says cheerfully.

'How did you get into the Slytherin Common room?' I ask amused. I get out of bed and shuffle through my stuff trying to find a decent outfit to go underneath my school robes.

'Draco let me in. Oh I am so excited for our date tomorrow.' She exclaims sighing sitting on the empty bed next to mine. I nod while changing.

'Ye, you are never awake this early. You still got the vial?' I ask casually when in reality my heart was thumping in my chest.

'Of course, thank you so much for helping me again, you really are the best friend I have ever had. I am sort of glad you were sick on the Hogwarts Express because otherwise I would never of met you.' Ginny says proudly. I don't respond. I just chuck on my school robes over my black tank top and jeans.

She isn't wrong though, if I hasn't of met her and formed a friendship things probably wouldn't be like this. In fact I would probably be on the other side of the battle still. I turn to Ginny and give what I hope is a sincere smile given my low mood.

'You're welcome Ginny'

'So just to clarify the plan again?' Draco asks. We are huddled on the sofa together in front of the fire in the Slytherin common room.

'I go on a date with Harry, we go to the kitchens. You show up. Kidnap us and take us to Malfoy Manor, I turn on Harry. Blaise brings in the two youngest Weasley bodies. Dark Lord takes control and I get redemption.' I say.

Draco nods and we exchange hugs. What my dearest cousin doesn't expect however is that I was a double agent for every side. So the plan I am using doesn't quite have the same results. Great fun nonetheless. May there comeuppance begin.

A/N: Short chapter yes. But the text one is over 2000 words and I really enjoyed writing it. So two more chapters people. The next one is the final one then I there will be the epilogue chapter. I must say, I know my writing style has changed a little from last year so if its that bad when I read it through I will re write all the other chapters too.
