luke and calum laid in calum's queen size bed, luke's head resting on calum's bare chest. calum played with luke's sweaty hair as their breathing slowed down. this was their normal after sex routine.
if someone asked calum how they met, he wouldn't be able to tell them. he didn't know luke's middle name, he didn't know how luke's favorite candy bar. but, he did know how to make him scream out his name, and that's all that mattered.
no matter how their days went, luke would end up here at night and would be gone by the morning. calum wouldn't change it for the world.
"calum?" luke whispered, his eyes glued to the white ceiling. the tan boy hummed in response. sometimes luke would ask random questions, so it wasn't out of the ordinary for him to speak up.
"i-" he began, letting go of calum to sit up and put his underwear back on. he was panicking. he didn't know how to just come out and say it. he couldn't ruin things.
"i think im starting to fall in love with you," luke said, quickly. calum almost couldn't understand what he was saying. the blonde slid his shirt over his head, fully intending on running out and never talking to calum again.
"luke, slow down mate," mate. a word that stung almost too much. calum put on his boxers, getting ready to chase after him.
"luke, i think i love you too," the dark haired boy said before even thinking. he didn't mean it at all, he didn't love luke. he loved luke's body. he loved listening to luke moan out his name. he loved the sex, not the person.
calum didn't understand why he lied. he could easily find someone else that would please him the same way. he was heartless, he knew that.
luke, however, was the happiest he had been in a long time. his heart beat was twice it's normal speed. his smile was so wide that it looked unnatural. he walked over to calum, kissing his lips quickly.
"good, im glad to know. i'll call you tomorrow, yeah?" luke kissed his lips once more before leaving. he was so excited to see where this went, but calum didn't know what he had gotten himself in to.
it was just sex, nothing more.

luke called calum the next day like he said he would. the phone rang for over a minute before going to voicemail. maybe he was busy? maybe he lost his phone? calum always answered his calls because that meant he was coming over.
he tried again, voicemail again. once more, voicemail.
"hey cal, it's luke. i, uh, told you that i was gonna call yesterday after what happened. can i still come over? call me back."
he waited for a response. he felt disappointed, he really expected him to call back, but he didn't. luke called one more time. this was going to determine what was going to go on between them. instead of ringing, it went straight to voicemail. calum was well aware that he was calling.
"you know what? i take back what i said. that was the last time we are ever having sex again. don't bother texting me," he spoke angrily into the phone, throwing it against the couch once he was done with his message.
calum listened to the voicemails immediately. he didn't feel a single emotion besides a little regret. he only regretted losing his fuck buddy.
°
three days passed and calum honestly expected luke to call at least once more. luke loved to talk on the phone. he would blow anybody's phone up, even if he knew they were working. he also loved listening to people's voicemails. he left calum so many messages in the past apologizing for calling so many times just because he wanted to keep listening to his.
his bed was lonely. he wasn't used to having the whole place to himself at night. luke was always curled up in a ball beside him, his hair falling over his forehead. luke loved when calum would play with the curls.
calum missed how awkward luke was, no matter how many times they fucked. he would always get super insecure about himself despite being the most beautiful person calum had ever seen. luke blushed whenever calum placed his hand on his thigh.
he shouldn't miss luke. he shouldn't miss his company or his voice. he shouldn't miss his loud, obnoxious laugh.
he shouldn't think about luke. he should forget him and find someone else. but he couldn't. luke was living in his mind and there was nothing he could do about it.
"fuck it," calum mumbled to himself before grabbing his phone and clicking luke's contact. he pressed call and held the phone up to his ear, his hands extremely sweating.
"yeah?" luke whispered into the phone. he would have never expected calum to call him.
"i can't forget you. all i can think about is you," calum began, "like im trying to forget you and find someone else."
"okay?" luke questioned, not sure on why he was telling him this right now.
"but i cant. i want to love you, luke. im basically addicted to you. i want to know everything about you. i want to know what your favorite color is and what your go to drink is when you're at the gas station. i want you," calum was rambling, but it was sweet.
all luke said was, "my favorite color is yellow and i get a diet coke," and that was enough for calum to know he wanted the same thing.
