i still remember
third of december
me in your sweater
you said it looked better
on me than it did you

calum and luke had been friends since they were very young, and, as seniors, nothing changed. they were so close that if people saw one of them, they knew the other was close by.

they did everything with each other. they were like each other's comfort blanket. when calum began to take extra glances at luke and couldn't help but smile in his presence, he knew he didn't like luke in a "just friends" way anymore.

december third was the day when he realized he felt this way for sure. they were walking home from school, like they did every day until it was too cold outside, when snow started falling.

luke let out a loud groan, putting his own hands on his bare arms. calum laughed at him because who the hell wears short sleeves with no jacket when it's cold out?

"here," calum stopped walking, sliding his green empathy hoodie, which was his favorite, off. he handed it to the blonde, smiling, "you're lucky i wore a long sleeve underneath, lu."

luke reached over and smacked calum's arm before putting it on. he was so thankful for his best friend. he probably would have ended up with hypothermia without him.

"i think it looks better on me than you. it really compliments my hair," luke laughed, pulling the sleeves over his hands.

calum agreed one hundred percent, but didn't say it out loud.

only if you knew
how much i liked you

that weekend, luke decided to stay over at calum's. the dark hair boy was hesitant because of his newly accepted feelings. he didn't want to come off as a predator. he didn't want to scare luke away forever.

luke laid sat in the chair, legs crossed as he watched calum play video games. luke never played, he actually hated playing video games. but, he did enjoy watching calum play since he was 'so good.'

"calum, look out!" luke screamed then covered his eyes. there was literally nobody there. calum didn't understand what luke was talking about.

"dude, i don't know what the fuck you saw, but there's literally nothing there," calum did a complete circle to double check. absolutely nothing. luke slowly uncovered his eyes, staring at the tv.

within seconds of uncovering his eyes, someone on the other team shot calum.

"i told you!" luke yelled, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at the dark haired boy.

the entire time, luke looked so happy. even when yelling and screaming, he had a smile on his face. he looked so pretty.

if only luke knew how calum felt.

but i watch you eyes, as she
walks by
what a sight for sore eyes

wednesday wasn't a good day. not at all. calum had woke up late. he forgot to do his homework. he dropped and cracked his phone.

he honestly didn't think it could get worse. he and luke were luke's locker before lunch because the blonde refused to eat school lunches even if he did steal french fries from other people.

"listen, you know how i wanted that t shirt but no i don't put," luke stopped mid sentence, his eyes following some girl as she walked to the cafeteria. he couldn't form words, he just stared.

calum watched him, chewing on his bottom lip. he wanted luke to continue talking and pretend like it didn't happen. he knew luke though.

"what we're talking about, cal? i don't even care anymore. what's her name?" luke questioned, talking fast. calum shrugged, grabbing luke's lunch box out of the locker and handing it to him before slamming the door.
