He Left

"Let's go home first and I'll tell you there Anthony."

"Can't you tell me here? Is my father such an embarrassment that we have to go home instead of talking about it"

"I'll head back." Said Joshua awkwardly.

Ms. Hong sighed as she walked towards Anthony with a frown.

"Your father...He left us...I didn't want him to leave but...he had other plans with someone else. I didn't blame him but...he left his own son to with be her."

"Who did he leave with" said Anthony on the verge of tears

"A women he met when gambling. She was younger and wealthier. Soon after he stopped coming home each night. Then he came home with her. He packed his things...and asked to divorce. I pleaded him to stay but he walked out. Suddenly I heard from your uncle that he was charged with theft and having illegal substances. I didn't want you growing up knowing he didn't want you. So I kept it to myself. I am very sorry Anthony-"

"C- can we go h- home?" He whispered trying to hide his face with his thick brown hair

"Honey are you alright?"

"I- I'm fine mother. I...just want to go home and rest...and think about some things."

"Okay"

As Anthony looked out his room window he noticed small flowers in the pond outside.

"Are those lilies?" He asked as he squinted his eyes.

A smile formed on his face.

"Father used to bring home lilies for mother...He said she loved them..."

Tears flowed down his cheeks. Soon after he drifted off to sleep.

As Ms.Hong opened the door she noticed Anthony sleeping cheek down on the window sill. Her phone began to vibrate from the inside of her pocket.

"Hello?"

"Are you and Anthony alright" asked Mr. Kim

"Ah yes. Mr.kim we...we should end our relationship."

"Wait what? Honey is something wrong? Did I do something to upset you? I can change-"

"No it isnt you. I just- want to be here for my son. He needs me more than ever right now. You should be there for Joshua as well. He also needs you. Losing Xing Su mist have been hard on him. Maybe when things calm down we can talk but for now I want to take a break. I am very sorry."

She put her phone into her pocket carefully before looking at Anthony with a warm smile.

"Don't worry Tony. Things will get better as long as he doesn't go near you."

Joshua POV-

Anthony said a girl named Yuri sat next to me today. But her name is Bo-a isnt it? She told me her name is Jung Bo-a. Is Yuri her real name? Maybe he just calls her Yuri. But she said she doesn't let anyone give her nicknames. That's a bit strange. Maybe he's talking about someone else.
