"Does my hair look okay?" Haneul asked, hand brushing her hair back.

"Your curls are on point." Jaemin complimented. He had his eyes on the road as he drove through the city.

"Is my make up okay?" She asked once again, checking her face in the mirror. "How about my outfit?"

"Slaying it." Jaemin complimented. "Even without make up you're pretty."

It was the dreaded appointment with her therapist. As promised, Jaemin accompanied her and was doing a good job in keeping her mind at ease. He took some tips from Taeyong before leaving the house.

He parked the car and turned the engine off. He paused for a bit before letting out a sigh. "If you feel too overwhelmed or your heart starts to beat really fast, you can hold my hand."

"Whatever." Haneul mumbled, stepping out of the car. She stepped out of the car and walked towards the clinic. Jaemin locked the car and followed after her.

"Ah, Lee Haneul. You're just in time. Follow me." The receptionist greeted. Haneul looked at Jaemin who made himself comfortable in the lounge. He noticed her nervous stare and smiled.

"You can do it!" He mouthed. He gave her a thumbs up and it was enough for her to finally enter the room.

"That concludes our session today. I'll be expecting you to come once again after two weeks." The therapist, Mrs. Kang, said. She signed a couple of things on her record and smiled. "So, professional things aside, who's the handsome boy with you? Have you finally made a new friend?"

"We're just um... acquaintances due to some circumstances." Haneul answered meekly. "He does help me a lot and makes me feel better. He really understands me and I'm thankful for it."

"You have feelings for him?" Mrs. Kang grinned, nudging the girl. Haneul shook her head but  Mrs. Kang just kept grinning. "I literally studied about human behavior seriously I see it."

"I see it as someone being very nice to me for the first time in ages and him trying his best to understand me so I feel flattered and more attached to him. That's it." Haneul argued. Her face at this point was red from using one to try to explain her thoughts.

"Breathe first sweetie." Mrs. Kang reminded. She handed her a new bottle of her medicine along with a note. "You should get going. We don't want him to stay waiting."

Haneul nodded and got up. She had her lips pursed and looked to be contemplating something. "How would you know you're in love?"

Mrs. Kang scribbled a couple of things on a small piece of paper, folded it, and handed it to Haneul without another word.

The girl was confused but took it as an answer. She unfolded the paper as she walked out and read the contents.

Signs of Falling in Love

1. You always think about them

2. You always stare at them

3. You always want them to be happy

4. Besides heart flutters your heart would try to beat at the same rate as theirs

"What're you reading?" Jaemin asked, walking up to the girl. He tried to take a peek at the paper but Haneul was quick to hide it. "I paid for the session already like you instructed so um yeah."

"Nothing. Let's go." Haneul mumbled, walking past the boy. He just shrugged and followed after her. He unlocked the car and opened the door for her before taking his own seat.

"Would you like to get some ice cream? I know a good place that doesn't have a lot of people." Jaemin offered.

Haneul shook her head, embarrassed. "I used all the money I got from commissions on the session."

"Knew you would say that. We're still going." Jaemin sighed. He turned a couple of corners and pulled up at a quiet neighborhood. With much effort, he got Haneul in the shop.

"If you're going to buy something for me, buy that ice cream cake for the kids and the babysitters." Haneul pointed to the cookies and cream flavored cake at the corner. "I'm surprised you know a place like this."

"When you're an idol who wants to feel normal once in a while you should." Jaemin muttered, a bitter chuckle coming after. "There's a couple of clothes stores here. You can go take a look while I order."

Haneul nodded and left the shop. There really weren't much people around and it made her feel less tense. She admired the clothes she wish she could buy. She even found clothes she thought would suit the kids.

"Hannah?" The voice was enough to make the girl freeze on the spot. "It really is Hannah Lee!"

"Damien?" She barely squeaked. She turned around and came face to face with the boy who ruined her life. She took shaky steps back, horrified. She felt lightheaded as she tasted the bile coming up her throat. The panic in her rose to her chest, making it harder to breath as it tightened on her.

"I can't believe you're really in Korea. The whole gang is here for the summer break." Damien said. He put an arm around her shoulder despite her trembling. "I'm pretty sure you missed us? The way we played. We didn't like how you just suddenly disappeared on us."

"Please. Leave." Haneul managed to say, pushing him away.

"What as that? I think the group pet just talked back to me." Damien taunted.

"She said leave you asshole."

Searing hot coffee dripped down from Damien's head as he let out a roar of pain. Jaemin stood behind him, dropping the empty cup on him. He took Haneul and pulled her behind him.

"What the hell was that for?" Damien growled.

"For being a creep." Jaemin answered bluntly. He was ready to fight the guy, but a small cold hand around his own made him stop. He squeezed her hand reassuringly and took a deep breath to calm down. "Never show your face again."

Jaemin led Haneul back to the car without a second thought. He sat down in his seat, not knowing what to say. He didn't know what was going on but he knew it wasn't good.

"Can I still hold your hand?" Haneul asked. She looked out the window, trying to hide her tears.

Jaemin just took her hand without another word, placing it on the gear stick and putting his hand over hers. He drove around the city to give her time to calm down.
