"Excuse me, have you seen this child?"
The person shook their head and walked away, making Jaemin sigh in frustration. He brushed his hair away from his sweaty face as his eyes darted around the vast park.
"It's my fault for letting go of his hand." Renjun sniffled. He wiped his tears and snot on Jaemin's jeans as he thought of his brother. "Noona is going to hate me if we can't find him!"
Jaemin's eyebrows furrowed. "Just Noona?"
"I don't care about you." Renjun bluntly rejected.
The older boy's eyes roll at his blatant rejection. His mind does linger on the thought of Haneul, hoping she was okay. She insisted on splitting up to find Jeno faster and it took her a while to convince him she would be okay.
"I'll take Mark and Donghyuck with me. I'll be fine with them... I think."
When it came to the kids she really changes.
"Juice box." Jisung requested, wiggling around in the baby carrier. He liked the fact that he didn't need to walk but it was getting really hot. He poked Jaemin in the face to get his attention. "Juice box!"
"Okay, okay. Don't get fussy." Jaemin momentarily let go of Chenle's hand and reached into the backpack to get a juice box.
"Why did you let go?" Chenle pouted, eyes getting watery.
"Give hyung a minute please." Jaemin begged, fumbling with the juice box. He gave it to Jisung before lifting Chenle and putting him on his shoulders. "Hold on tightly, okay?"
"I want upsie too." Renjun mumbled, raising his hands. He looked up to the pink haired boy with sparkling eyes and the boy could only sigh.
"Who needs the gym when you have kids." He picked Renjun up and used his hip to support his weight. "Where did you last see Jeno?"
"We were picking some flowers over there." Renjun pointed over to the field. They walked over to the field and approached those in the area.
"Puppy!" Chenle beamed, reaching for the puppy.
"Lele hold on to hyung's hair. You'll fall." Jisung scolded. Renjun nodded, holding onto Chenle's shirt.
"Excuse me, sir." Jaemin called the man holding the puppy's leash. He showed a picture of Jeno on his phone. "Have you seen this kid? He was last seen with this little one."
"I'm sorry I haven't seen him." The man apologized. "If you're having a hard time finding him there's an announcement center over there."
"Thank you, I'll keep it in mind." Jaemin bowed slightly along with the kids.
"Here's a treat for the kids and you. Must be tiring." The man chuckled, handing them lollipops before leaving. The kids all happily opened and ate the sweet treat but Jaemin pocketed his.
"Do you get tired of taking care of us?" Renjun asked.
"I don't know ask your noona." Jaemin shrugged. He decided to take a break under the shade, catching his breath. He looked around and spotted the familiar rainbow hair of Donghyuck.
He forced himself to walk over to the trio. Mark was the first to notice them and grinned.
"It's poopie-head!" Mark exclaimed with joy. Haneul, who had Donghyuck on her shoulders, turned her head almost immediately.
"It's ugly fart!"
"Are you okay?" Jaemin asked, ignoring the insults. He put Renjun down and stretched his arm. "I guess you didn't have any luck either."
"I was about to call you actually." Haneul admitted with a defeated sigh. "That must have been heavy."
She did get to look around, but she didn't have the courage to ask anyone. The nerves eventually got the best of her and instinctively looked for Jaemin.
"You still did well." Jaemin praised, ruffling her hair. He handed her the lollipop given to him earlier. "I got a really good tip from someone. He said we should go to the announcement center."
Haneul nodded in agreement, wondering why she didn't think it. She had Renjun and Mark hold hands and walk in front of them so they wouldn't be left behind.
"We're gonna have a meal with a friend of mine when we find Jeno." Jaemin awkwardly informed. "I was thinking maybe he could help you get accustomed with people too."
"As long as you're there with me I'll be fine." Haneul mumbled. She could feel the stares of people poking her. It was probably due to the many children they had.
"I'm right here for you." Jaemin assured, planting a soft kiss on the back of her hand.
"And so are we." Donghyuck scoffed, pulling Jaemin's hair. Chenle and Jisung had their eyes covered at their sweet moment.
"Wasn't that so adorable?"
"The dog was carrying him by his collar."
"They look so much alike."
"Do you think that kid is lost though?"
Jaemin's ears perked up at the mention of lost. "I don't mean to eavesdrop but what kid are you talking about?"
The group of girls stop in their tracks and face the two. It was obvious they were checking him out and eyeing the kids until they saw his intertwined hand.
"There's this kid at the east entrance of the park with a dog." One of them answered. The boy pulled out the picture from his pocket and showed it to them. "That's the kid."
"Thank you very much. Enjoy your day." Jaemin smiled. The girls seemed to gush at his kindness as they left.
"He could do better." Haneul heard one of them say loudly. It was like it was on purpose as she even looked back at her.
"Haneul? Let's go." Jaemin tugged on her hand, pulling her out of her trance.
The group walked towards the east entrance and looked around. Chenle, who had the best view, was the first to spot his older brother.
"Over there!" He shouted, pointing to a tree that was a bit far.
There, Jeno sat down with a bright smile. He looked to be working on something they couldn't see very well. A samoyed dog nuzzled itself around him as it slept.
"That's adorable." Haneul gushed at the sight.
"Could the samoyed have mistaken him as its puppy?" Jaemin mused. They approached the tree Jeno was at and they could finally rest easy.
"Jeno!" Renjun cried, running up to the said boy. He tackled him into a hug, startling the dog. "We've been looking for you everywhere!
"Were you scared by yourself?" Haneul asked, crouching down to the boy.
Jeno shook his head. "No. After the doggo took me Yeojeong came to keep me company."
"What?"
Jeno held up a flower crown which was what he was fiddling with earlier. "Renjun picked the flowers. We thought a princess should have a crown."
The kids ignored him and watched as Jeno happily placed the flower crown on Haneul's head. They all clapped and Haneul offered him a kiss as a thanks.
"I think I just lost 10 years in my life." Jaemin groaned. "Never scare us like that again."
