Todoroki's eyes fluttered open to the sound of shouting and cries. His head was still spinning from the night before. He turned his head and peered over the the small, black alarm clock on his bedside, with the numbers 7:36 projected on its screen.
He turned his head and got up. He wasn't surprised by the racket, it happened almost every morning. Todoroki rubbed his head and headed toward the bathroom. He stared in the mirror, with sorrow in his eyes. He hated his scar and he hated his left side. He began to get ready and pull on his uniform, the fabric lightly grased the bruses on his torso and caused him to hiss in pain.
He picked up his bag and wandered down the stairs, towards the kitchen. As he walked, the shouting began to grow louder and louder. His pace quickened as he reached the doorway. He took a deep breath and stepped inside. His heart stopped. His gaze locked with his father's and his mouth twisted to a frown. Todoroki released his gaze from endeavour and turned to his sister, who was on the floor, crying. He rushed towards her but was put to a halt by a large hand squeezing his arm.
"Shouto." Todoroki tilted his head and was presented with a stern face.
"If you know what's good for you, you won't take another step forward."his father's voice boomed throughout the house.
Dispute his father's warnings, todoroki released his arm, helped his sister up from the floor and carried her to the door. He watched her take a few steps towards the stairs but was struck down almost instantly by a firm palm.
His father was filled with rage. it wasn't new to have his son disobey him but it still angered him.Todoroki froze in place. His cheek red as his hair. His head throbbed violently but his face remained plain. He refused to let his father know how he felt. He hated the thought of his victory.
Without another word, todoroki left.
His heart had calmed as he walked but his mind still raced. That sort of scene had happened many times before and it ended the same almost every time.
He reached into his pocket and checked the time. 8:05 . Class started in 10 minutes. He turned the corner and stepped into the classroom. He was greeted by a familiar face smiling brightly.
"Todoroki-kun!" The small green haired boy skipped towards the door to greet his friend.
They walked together towards todoroki's desk to talk.Shouto pulled a chair up for midorya and they sat together, enjoying each others company.
Ten minutes had passed and their sluggish teacher rolled in. Literally. He rolled through the door, wrapped in his familiar yellow bag. He grunted as he stood and gave a small sigh before speaking."All of you. Can it." The class quietened and turned towards Aizawa. "Some of you may already know but, there is an exam coming up soon and no kamanari you are not allowed to electrocute the other students." The boy sheepishly lowered his hand, earning a few snickers from his classmates. "This exam, is a written exam." The children groaned and whined at his statement. All apart from Iida, who was eagerly bouncing in his chair.
The long haired man continued, "for this exam, however, you will work in pairs. Choose wisely. Your grades depend on team effort." He turned over and picked up his sleeping bag. "Form is dismissed"Authors note
