Todoroki stared at the clock, eagerly waiting for the hand to tick one last time. 3:14.
Tick
Yes! His head raced as he ran through the halls. A few people stared but he didn't mind. He could finally hang out with midoriya.
"TODOROKI NO RUNNING IN THE HALLS"
"Sorry Iida!" he called.
He had run from the other side of campus and was completely out of breath. He paused for a few moments before slowly opening the school's front doors. There he was. Izuku was excitedly hopping at the gate, waiting for the half split boy. Todoroki tried to keep his cool and slightly smiled at midorya.
"I'm so excited Todoroki-kun! This will be so fun" the smaller boy sung as he trot beside him.
"Yea it Will"
They walked for what only seemed like seconds and arrived at the todoroki household. Midoriya's jaw dropped. The house was huge and covered in beautifully intricate patterns. Two large marble pillars guarded the gateway as he shyly stepped through. The size of the building made him feel small. He had never seen anything like it before."Come on midoriya"
The short boy nodded and skipped behind shouto, still admiring the artwork.
Todoroki took one step inside and was immediately met with his father's palm. An air splitting crack rung in the entrance.
"WHO IS THIS!"
Shouto's face was red, but once again plain, "a friend."
"FRIEND? YOU DON'T HAVE TIME FOR FRIENDS. YOU NEED TO BE TRAINING!" a second crack joined the first.
Midoriya's eyes began to tear and he raised his hands to his mouth. He was frightened, not only for shouto, but also himself.
Todoroki's face was calm and unbroken as he said "leave us alone."
He took midoriya by the wrist and lead him up the stairs.
"SHOUTO COME BACK THIS INSTANT! I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS!" his father screamed.
Todoroki tilted his head slightly and glared at his father. With a stern look, he muttered loud enough to hear "go to hell."The two quickly walked to his bedroom and immediately locked the door. By now izuku was crying.
"Shouto... Are you okay." His voice quivered as his breath shook.
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine midorya." Unlike the smaller boy, he was barely fazed by the scene they had just been a part of.
"Bu...but....but" the green haired boy quivered and sobbed in shock and worry.
Todoroki pulled him in and hugged him tight. Midoriya placed his head on shouto's chest and gradually stopped shaking.
"See? I'm okay." He reassured him and they pulled away from eachother.Once the broccoli had stopped crying, they sat together on his bed in pure silence. Midoriya pulled closer to the other, causing him to blush not so descretly. A few minutes passed and the smaller boy finally broke the quiet barrier.
*Todoroki-kun.." midoriya whispered.
The split boy hummed to show he was listening.
"How often does that happen?" His eyes widened as he turned to face him.
"Too often" he let out a sigh and got up from the bed. He walked over to the desk and pulled out a red laptop with the words "shouto todoroki" engraved on the back.
"Did Mr aisawa tell us what the exam's about?'
"I don't think so but he said he would send an email." Izuku responded.
As the other boy was on the laptop, midorya was gazing out the window, onto a broad horizon. He was deep in thought.
"It says here the exam is on team rescues and attacks." Todoroki turned to the green haired boy."that's okay, right?"
The other boy nodded, pulled out three textbooks from his bag and placed them beside him.Authors note
