"Boys! Wake up!" Francis yelled, the wafting smell of crepes and bacon waking Alfred and Matthew in an instant. Both boys jumped out of their beds, running around and throwing items on the ground. Pasting by each other in the hallway, only for a couple seconds later their hands landing the the bathroom door knob.

"Back off Mattie, the hero needs to look charming! That dance is coming up and I'm thinking of asking someone out" Alfred says like it was the best explanation to use the bathroom first. Matthew pouted and pushed himself against the door, sending a sharp glare to his brother.

"Yeah well I want to look nice! What if someone...what if someone asks me out to the dance? Oh my maple...I need to do my hair and should I wear glasses? But I don't like contacts..." Matthew was continuing on, looking nervous and excited. Alfred stood dumbfounded, never realizing that his baby brother was old enough to start liking people.

"No" was all he said to break the shorter blonde out of his trance. Matthew looked up with a raised brow, lilac eyes showing great confusion.

"What? No what?" Alfred sighed and opened the bathtoom door, shoving Matthew inside as well. Squeaking in surprise, Matthew watched warily as Alfred shut and locked tge door before pacing the small space they had remaining.

"Mattie...has papa or dad gave you...the talk?" Matthew looked surprise at this, and not quite knowing exactly what the talk meant, shook his head slowly. Sighing, Alfred ran a hand through his disheveled hair, feeling an headache rise but couldn't help but feel an intense more amount of guilt. Sure he and his fathers began treating Mattie different the pass month, but have they not gave him the decent understandings of being a teen before?

"Okay, you shower first and I'll talk to you after school about...this" the American brother left, leaving the Canadian brother confused. But Mattie complied, thinking what he got himself into.

"Hey Gil?" Matthew mumbles, playing with the small spot of broken leather of the passenger seat. Gilbert hummed, a nontalktive way to tell Matthew to continue. Lars, who was seating in the backseat, held an frozen bag of peas to his forehead. Ivan sat in the back as well, twirling a loose string of his scarf.

"Alfred was talking to me about acknowledging this thing, um, the talk. Is this the same talk you guys gave me?" All three older teens froze, but Ivan whispered a small 'da'.

"Why the hell would he want to know?" Lars muttered, wincing as Gilbert took a sharp turn. His wound wasn't the problem though, it was simply his concern for his car.

"Oh well we were f-fighting, well not really fighting but arguing to see who got to use the bathroom first. He was talking about being the hero and having to look his finest if he were to ask somewhat out for the winter ball coming up. I tried reasoning as well and he seemed shock ay my words..." Matthew mumbles.

"Vat were you're choice of words to send him off, Birdie?" Gilbert questions. The youngest blushed, looking down at his folded hands resting on his lap, biting his bottom lip.

"Well, I tried reasoning to him that someone might wanna g-go to the dance with me...I just wanted to l-look nice, is all" Matthew says softly, trailing off at the end as he stared out the window. Gilbert looked at his best friend, feeling his heart tug with this common emotion. Jealously. But he frowned, knowing Matthew doubted himself. Thought he wasn't worthy, thought no one would truly love him. It saddened them, that Matthew highly doubted himself, was so self conscious due to the abuse he suffered from. It didn't help with those few bullies, those few people that noticed him and took advantage of it.
