If a child asks
Parents can give anything
All their care and priority
Goes to their offspring
But as time passes by
Parents forget to give something to their child
Something that matters more than anything else
To a child going through changes in self
Yes, it is personal space
Where the child creates dreams for oneself
Explores ones talents and interests
Learns to respect ones body and to trust
It is a tough time that the child goes through
Things change faster than one can get used to
And as everything seems to go against
Comes confusion, rebellion and rage
As the horizon for acceptance narrows by
No one can tell what is in the child's mind
That is the time child needs the most
What parents must give, love and support
