"Are you sure this is safe?" A timid vampire asked, she cowered in a dark basement. Candles were lit all around, a fire blazed before her, a cauldron was bubbling with a dark liquid and in the shadows a woman was chained against a wall. An illuminated pentagon drawn just underneath her teemed with a dark energy. "Yes, it's just fine dear." A witch went on, she grabbed a ladle near the cauldron, dipped it into its contents and poured it into a glass chalice for the vampiress. "Go on, drink. The powers that come upon you shouldn't succumb as time goes on. I'm sure of it." The vampiress didn't entirely know what she was getting into. She just knew some vampire was doing magick in the courtyard shops and she wanted in. After having a short conversation with a friend of a friend who knew the woman, they had sent her here, to a lavish apartment in Moonview owned by a witch, Avelyn. The place gave her the creeps, she even had to hand over a drop of her blood when she came in but she wanted witch-like powers even if just for a little while but the promise she made of them possibly being permanent drew her in. She took the cup from the woman and took a sip, it tasted weird. An odd concoction of witch blood, vampire blood and probably the contents of a spell gave it a bitter chalky taste with a cinnamon bite. She drank the entire glass before returning it. "Your new abilities will show up within the next few hours. If anything goes wrong don't hesitate to.. think about me." Avelyn smiled and the vampire nodded. "Uh, ok.. thank you, uh, so much." The vampiress waved and bowed not knowing how to leave such a powerful witch's presence. As she walked out of the room, her gaze caught the chained woman again. Her head was down and her dark curls that fell over her face were matted and dirty. But something about her seemed familiar. She took a step closer and the pentagram became brighter. "Sadie, do you need help finding the door?" Avelyn hissed, glaring over to her. "Uh, n-no."
"Good, then I suggest you leave now."
The girl nodded and made her way out of the basement swiftly and out of the witch's home.
Avelyn put the ladle down and walked over to view her royal specimen, eyes narrowed. Suddenly two men in bullet proof vests, armed with stakes revealed themselves. They stood on either side of the prisoner and had been camouflaged against the wall. "I think she's dying, Mistress."
Avelyn sighed, taking a step closer and lifted the woman's head. She stared deep into the former queen's eyes. "So, she is.." Avelyn clicked her tongue, looking down at the pentagram. It was supposed to elongate the vampire's life for as long as possible but with her bleeding her around the clock. Even that wouldn't last too long. "I guess when this one is dead, we'll have to make do with someone else. Another of royal blood." She smirked to herself just as her doorbell rang.

Oriel looked over a bouquet of sunflowers, Natalie by herself as they roamed through the pop-up flower garden of a local shop. The Spring Festival had called vampires and humans out to enjoy the fresh warm air, colors of the blooming flowers and water games in the courtyard in the center of Moonview. Booths of flowers, special teas and new local products were everywhere, selling warm-hearted gifts of spring to everyone. Children ran around in sprinklers and the occasional young adults bombarded each other with water balloons. The smell of the flowers delighted Oriel and she ended up paying for a bouquet orchids. She wore a thin, lilac summer dress, enjoying the sun against her skin. She wasn't without her sunscreen and thoughts of her High School Picnic with Ash came to mind and she grinned. "So, have you told Ash about anything yet?" Natalie whispered and Oriel turned to make sure Scarlett was a few feet away. Although she knew, being a vampire or whatever, she could probably hear them easily. "I've texted her, just waiting for a response now." Oriel took out her phone as she and Natalie walked over to a Snow cone stand.
