Really wanted to finish chapter 4 today buuuut Writer's Block has been stopping me, most sadly. I've been trying to write all weekend and got nothing.. almost done with the chapter too x.x Hopefully I'll finish it up soon and finally post it. Sorry, guys.
While looking up ways to get over Writer's Block, I took some advice and 'wrote something else.' So here's an excerpt from Chapter 13, subject to change, of course. I think I'm having writer's block because I'm nervous for some reason.. probably putting too much pressure on myself.
"Hey! Oriel, where are you going?" Rique whispered harshly as Oriel broke away from their group to run down a hallway.
"I have to find Ash. Take the others to fulfill the rest of the mission. We'll meet back up with you." Oriel struggled to whisper back and she continued deeper into the Witch's rather large and dark mansion. It seemed completely empty but Oriel could feel bodies near. The witch and Scarlett had to be close.. Oriel went from room to room, hoping to catch a cinnamon scent. It reminded her of when Ash had her hunt her through the forest in her backyard that day. She was so worried about that class and when Ash had offered to help she was excited and nervous all at the same time. She smiled a little. Things were much simpler then.. now the world was beginning to end all around them and Ash was nowhere to be found. Oriel walked through a large dining room and down another hall. Just as she passed the stairs, that was when she caught her scent. Cinnamon. She grinned slightly, relief filling her as she turned to run up the stairs. "Ash!" She called, following the scent down another hall and into a large master bedroom. The room was dark and only a sliver of moonlight from the window shone into the room. Her eyes met Ash's from across the room. She stood still, at attention as if summoned by her commanding officer. "Ash!" Oriel grinned and ran over to her opening her arms for a hug. As she collided against Ash's body, she didn't move to hold her as she had. She remained still, staring straight ahead. She didn't even flinch. Oriel's brows crinkled in frustration. "Ash.." Oriel stared up at her and grabbed ahold of her arm, shaking her lightly. "Hey, come on. It's me. We have to go, Rique and I have led a group in to end this shit for good. They're going to need our help." But still, Ash didn't budge. Oriel moved a hand to feel her pulse and soon heartbeat. Ash inhaled and exhaled normally. Well, she wasn't dead. What was wrong with her? "Ashton!" Oriel called again and shook her a little harder. "What have they done to you?" Oriel whispered, moving a hand to lay on her wife's face.
"She won't answer you." A voice called into the darkness. Oriel turned to see Scarlett leaning in the doorway. She smirked slightly, folding her arms across her chest. "What do you mean? What did you do to her?" Oriel turned to stand in front of Ash protectively and bared her fangs, hissing at Scarlett. Scarlett chuckled, taking a few steps closer. "Let's just say..Ash doesn't take orders from you anymore.. Ashton." Ash's head turned slightly when Scarlett called her name. She stared Scarlett down, waiting. "Take care of Oriella for me, will you? Kill her." Scarlett winked and turned to leave the room. Oriel's heart sank as she felt Ash's hand grip her shoulder tight. Oriel grimaced as the bones began to shatter. Ash turned abruptly to pin Oriel against the wall, her hand wrapping around her neck tight. "A-Ash.." Oriel's hands gripped Ash's wrist tight. "I-I know... you dont.. wanna do this.."
"Oh, I want nothing more.."
