Caroline stumbled out of the room, ripping away the wood from her wounds and walking dizzily towards the nearest blood bag she could find. Two buckets filled to the brim with her blood had drained the poor vampire more than she'd admit.

Stumbling through the compound with a growing hunger wasn't the slightest bit easy. She wanted to sink her fangs into anything and everything that resembled the red liquid she'd grown to love.

"Caroline what are you doing?" The deep nobleman's voice rung throughout the room as caroline started to collapse. Her bodyweight-only being supported by the wall she was clutching.

"I-I need blood." Caroline's voice was raspy and rough, lack of use draining it. Elijah took note of her wounds that seemed to be healing very slowly and sped to the wine cellar, bringing up four bags of blood.

"Here" he handed the bags and Caroline was immediately turning around, inhaling the blood with lightning speed.

Finishing off the last bag caroline wiped her chin and turned sheepishly to look at him, "Thank you."

"If I might ask why where you draining your blood?"

"Freya needed it for a spell." Caroline's attention was turned towards the wounds embedded into her arms that seemed to be slowly closing up.

"Freya should be coming back promptly." Elijah straightened his tie, "Do you acquire my assistance with anything else Caroline?"

"No, I'll be fine." Caroline felt her body slowly going back to normal as the blood entered her veins, "I just need to get out of this stuffy house."

"I must go, Hayley requires my assistance." Elijah nodded politely before strutting out of the room, Klaus walking in at the exact same time.

"I'm not sure you leaving the compound is a very good idea love." Klaus said, his voice laced with worry, "Lucien is especially into blondes."

"I'll be fine. The only time I almost died was when you bit me." She glared at him with fiery eyes, the pit in her stomach pounding harder as his eyes shut her out. Caroline didn't want to be cruel but she couldn't forget all he'd done to her.

"I remember it as me saving your life." He mused, leaning against the door frame.

"Only cause you made my boyfriend bite me!" She added the words EX in her head. But Klaus didn't need to know that.

"How is the mutt nowadays?" Klaus grinned, remembering the last time he saw his sired hybrid.

"I wouldn't know. He dumped me." Caroline's eyes cast downwards, a bit of shame building behind her blue irises.

"Then let's go. Get your mind off things love." Klaus offered, seeing his chance and taking it.

"Fine. But your buying dinner."
