Caroline and Klaus walked silently down the brightly lit French quarter. The scent of fried foods and cotton candy filling their nostrils along with the children screaming on cheap carnival rides. Small little booths of witches advertised fortune tellers and a black photo booth was right by a bar, drunk couples going in and out like an ATM.

"I think we should do rides, then cotton candy, then alcohol, then photo booth!" Caroline was eager, practically vibrating with excitement. Having never been anywhere but Mystic Falls this new place was bursting with possibilities.

"You really can't leave anything up to chance can you." Klaus teased playfully, nudging her shoulder as they walked towards one of the rides.

"I just think this is the perfect way to get everything fit in!" She glared are him, sticking her tongue at him as they got in for the Space Rocket Sprocket, supposedly the fastest ride in the Americas.

"Now how could I forget your organization skills, they where so prominently promoted in your miss mystic falls application." Klaus's dark blue irises shined with adoration as she jumped up in down as the stepped onto the cramped seats, the two vampires having no space between them.

"That's disgraceful. But I almost forgot you're an elder." Caroline smiles at his mock-offended face, the giggle brings a warm glow into Klaus's heart.

"I suppose I am quite old, though that didn't stop you the night in the forest." Klaus laughed, but as the gears started whirring Caroline suddenly remembered how scared they made her.

The ride lurched forward and Forbes let out a blood-curdling scream, latching onto Klaus as the janky ride continued on.

"WE'RE GONNA DIE!" She shrieked, her fingers digging into Klaus's large arms, his laughter ringing in her ear.

"Love, you're immortal." He held onto her securely, trying to calm to freaked out caroline.

"That doesn't stop fear!" The ride lurched to a stop and Caroline suddenly realized how close they were. Quickly detaching themselves Caroline blushed and laughed dryly.

The next few hours went by in a blur. Between cotton candy and photo booths, the two almost forgot about the fact she would be leaving eventually. They forgot the feuding they used to have. Every bad thing they'd done was forgotten. It was just them.

Until a high pitches accent interrupted their cotton candy snack.

"I run off one blonde and you already have another!"
