Kenzie POV
I was listening to them walking down the halls banging on everything to scare someone into talking. Johnny went to turn the light off when we heard them at our door, he stood there and the next thing I know I saw him bleeding.

I didn't make a noise or even move, he stood there as blood dripped on the floor and Annie just looked shocked. I guess the person left after that because I saw no shadow of feet, I saw annie was about to scream from her face so I had to shake her back into reality

"Annie, please don't scream. You have to promise not to scream" I said and she nodded crying silently. I yanked my shoes off and ran over to the shocked Johnny as he was falling. I laid him down trying to keep my tears under control

"I'm sorry" he whispered "shush" I said "I'm going to try and help you but It's going to hurt a lot" I said and he nodded "if it's too much let me know and we will stop" I said and he nodded "Annie grab the first aid kit" I whispered

"Im sleepy" he said "no you aren't, close your eyes and you won't see me again" I cried "I'm so so so sorry" he grabbed my hand "for the cheating, the lying, for not being there for you when you needed me" he choked on every other word

"I forgive you, for everything. I was never mad at you, I was mad that I'm not good enough for you" I cried "you are perfect, I love you" he smiled weekly "I love you too" I said wiping away my tears. "Bite down" I put my jacket sleeve in his mouth "Keep quiet" I motioned and he nodded

I pulled up his shirt to see a big pile of blood surrounding a small hole. I whipped the area as soft as possible with a alcohol wipe, once we got a good view Annie started pouring a small bottle of alcohol of the wound.

I felt him squirming and I saw his face was really red "stay still" I pushed his shoulders down. The bullet is still inside if him so we didn't have to flip him over but we put an insane amount of gauze and the rape on him. Annie had tights in her bag so we wrapped that around him to secure the pressure.

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and it was an alert saying the people have been arrested and the swat teams are here. I showed it to Annie and she nodded shuffling to find her phone got bothering to wipe the blood off her. Johnny just sat there squeezing my hand mumbling things under his breath

We heard a loud bang on the door and this time Annie screamed. I shot down to the floor and just hugged Johnny out of fear. My eyes stayed closed trying to not think about how much it would hurt to get shot, I opened one eye to see guys in big black suits waving me over.

I felt Johnny push me off..... or at least try to but I didn't move until he spoke "the longer we stay here the more I die" he said and I shot  up and he had a weak smirk on his face. "I grabbed Annie's hand and she pulled me into a hug. We just stood there crying as paramedics rushed in the closet

We were walked outside with Annie still crying and me in shock, I'm now processing what's going on. The whole school turned as we were covered in blood but my biggest concern was Johnny that I didn't notice.

We were told to sit down in the grass with everyone but to stay in the front for questioning. We sat down in these chairs unlike the rest of the school with blankets, not because it was cold but because we were freaking out.

Annie was hyperventilating so they had to track her heart rate. Parents were now coming to pick their children up and when they passed up they cried a little. I saw Maddie talking to a cop trying to reach us and I waved at she looked at us so he let her pass.

She ran over to us and indulged me in a tight hug "are you ok" she asks but I just look past her "omg, who's blood is that" she stepped back see the mostly dry blood "he was so close and boom" I snapped my fingers and Annie started crying harder.
