When you lose,
someone you love,
who had been there,
from the beginning,
you remember.
You remember,
everything about them,
from the look in their warm eyes,
to the tone of their voices.
When they're gone,
your mind resurrects,
every single significant,
moments you shared.
Their infectious smiles,
bring tears to your eyes,
Their voices, calling you,
lingers in your ears.
Life goes on,
but you remain,
where they left you,
You remain frozen,
in the memories of them.
Now that their unforeseen,
absence,
throbs your heart,
You understand,
how much their presence,
meant to you.
You regret,
those times you forgot,
to smile a little wider,
to talk a little longer,
to show, you love them.
When they die,
the emptiness suffocates you,
happiness comes with guilt,
loneliness becomes your friend.
A future without them,
feels dark, scary,
and sometimes even pointless.
Often times,
you just wish,
to remain in the past,
when they were present,
in your present.
Deep down,
you know,
they would have hated,
to see you crumble.
So you shall,
Rise up,
For them,
For the people,
who are still around you.

I know it has been quite some time since I last updated. Mianhae. Feel free to share your thoughts on the poem. It may not be the best of mine but I hope you like it.
I lost a close cousin of mine four months ago and I still cannot believe that she's gone.
