Chapter 8

After a long first day, I headed back to the bus with the guys to rest. They were still somehow up for a party later on in the night, but I returned to my bunk and layed down. I pulled across the fabric resembling a curtain around my bunk so that I lay in a light near darkness. I closed my eyes and began humming Come As You Are by Nirvana, they were a band whose music I had grown up with, and loved to death. Usually if you heard me humming this tune, it was a sign to the guys that I was in a state of peace, and not to be disturbed- so when someone ripped open my curtain that the light just about blinded my eyes, I was tempted to shout at whoever it had been.

I saw Lynn standing by my bunk beaming,

"You want to come to the party later Tay?"

I mumbled "Maybe"

"Jenna's there"

I bolted right up and sat facing Lynn, I saw her about to burst out laughing at my sudden enthusiasm, and I tried to seem grumpy and not interested, while my heart was actually racing and my cheeks blushing. 

"Well y'know I'll think about it, just kinda tired" I finally replied

"Ah alright"

I saw Lynn smile and stand up, walking towards the door. Just as she opened it and stepped outside I yelled

"I'LL BE THERE!"

I saw Lynn's head pop back round behind the door, she winked at me and continued to run out the door. I layed back down on my bunk and grinned, excited about later. I began to panic as I still had to decide what to wear later, and closed my eyes and promised myself five more minutes of sleep just as the guys began talking.
