As the plane soared towards Afghanistan, I couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and anxiety. I had hoped that the confrontation with Daryll had finally brought an end to the chaos, but the uncertainty of his disappearance lingered in the back of my mind.

Amidst my thoughts, I encountered a man I had never seen before, John Hearty, also known as the Traveler. Little did I know that this encounter would change the course of my journey forever.

John's eyes held a mysterious glint, and his demeanor exuded an aura of enigma. Before I could exchange a word with him, he acted swiftly, throwing me off the plane. The ground rushed up to meet me, and I hit the unforgiving desert sand with a thud.

Stunned and disoriented, I struggled to regain my senses. My GPS was broken in the fall, leaving me with nothing but a compass and a weapon in the vast expanse of the desert. I was once again a lost American, far from the safety of the base and the camaraderie of my fellow soldiers.

The scorching sun beat down mercilessly, and the desert landscape seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction. In the distance, I could see the sand dunes rise like daunting obstacles, threatening to swallow me whole.

With a determined spirit, I clutched my weapon tightly, feeling its weight as a reminder of the battles I had fought and the ones still to come. I adjusted my compass, hoping it would lead me in the right direction.

As I trudged forward, every step felt heavy with uncertainty. I didn't know if John Hearty was an ally or an adversary, but his actions spoke of a power and knowledge beyond my comprehension. I couldn't shake the feeling that my encounter with him held a deeper meaning, one that would unravel in due time.

The desert was a harsh teacher, and each moment brought new challenges. The scorching heat drained my energy, and the lack of water left me parched. Yet, I pressed on, my will to survive pushing me forward.

Days turned into nights, and still, I trekked on, driven by the hope of finding my way back to civilization. In the solitude of the desert, I reflected on the journey that had led me to this point - the battles fought, the sacrifices made, and the friends lost along the way.
