"...And they all lived happily ever after! Yay!" Princess Poppy closed the storybook and joyfully skipped to the shelf to place it back. It was like every other day, and Poppy was, as per usual, reading to the kids. This was how she always started the day. "Yay!!!" The children cheered, having read another interesting story in the vast library. "And one day, I'll have a story to write for myself!" Poppy thought to herself; she loved books, especially with a happy ending.
Just then, the Snack Pack arrived. "Hey Poppy!" Satin said, "Can we go play now?" asked Chenille. "Sure! Let's go have fun! Bye kids!" Poppy stood up, getting ready to leave. "Goodbye Princess Poppy!" The kids waved, knowing what was next.
And with that, the morning song came on.-writer's block and laziness to do the morning song takes over, so yeah, go on over to the vid on top :p-
After the morning song...
"Hello my fellow subjects! Today's announcement is: We will be having a party today to celebrate Aspen's birthday! Everyone in the village is invited!" Poppy started off with a cheerful message. All the trolls at the square cheered and thought of what gifts to bring. Then King Peppy cut in,"And do not go near the grey people! They're infectious!" Poppy reminded him, trying not to sound mean :"Dad, we all know already and we know better."Author's note: I know, boring, im just gonna switch to POVs now.
Branch's POV:
Yup, another mundane boring day. Sad, really, how we have absolutely nothing to do. Most people here live in the town, unlike me. Having an underground bunker just makes me feel safe and away from those coloured people. I wonder how they manage to even keep their hopes up about a totally hopeless situation. Maybe it is because they never had one. Well then that is unfair, us grey people are always in danger. (Another reason I should be in my underground bunker storing sweat right now.)I never really understood why we hated them, though. Looking back, the only reason we should never meet, or at least they say why, is because of the so-called infection. So what? We have a border. It has its purpose. And I just don't believe that the infection thing is true.
Poppy's POV:
Another great day! Full of vibrant bright colours! The reason why I read to the kids is only because my dad used to read to me the same story every night, The Tale Of Four Trolls. They were the ones that created this wonderful world for my kingdom to live in, and I could not be more grateful! Not mentioning the grey trolls living on the other side. They must be miserable, and dad keeps telling us to "stay away because of the infection". I think we're safe, dad mentioned there was a border made out of magic anyway. "Hey Poppy, lets play some hide and seek!" DJ suggested. "Ye-e-ea-ah" Guy Diamond agreed. Well, guess its hide and seek today. "Sure! Tag! You're it! Smidge is the seeker!" I laughed, tapping Smidge on the shoulder and ran off to hide, not looking back.I ran and ran into the forest. Sunshine shone through the leaves, leaving spots all over the forest floor. I hopped through piles of leaves, leaving a trail behind me so that I would know where to go when I went back, and also to give Smidge clues as to where I went so that the game would never last forever.
And suddenly, I spotted a blue glow.
Branch's POV
I walked through the forest, mindful of the leaves and sticks and picking up some on the way. I had to be careful. There might be creatures like spiders coming to eat me. It ate Grandma, and it still haunts me to this day. She was the only person who cared. It would be great if others did care about one another, but I guess only I think about this, because after she got utterly devoured I ran out of the village into the woods, and for the next 16 years, spent life building an underground bunker and collecting emergency supplies for in case something bad happens. No one, and absolutely no one, tried to find me. Its depressing, really. As I walked through the gloomy, lonely forests, I noticed at the corner of my eye: something was glowing blue. Wait, this never happened the last few times I came to collect wood in this part of the forest. What was happening? The glow seemed to call to me: "Come over, Branch..."
And suddenly, I could not control myself. The pull dragged me towards the mysterious blue glow. Maybe it was curiosity, maybe it was fate, and all in the blink of an eye, I was there.
In front of a large border, seemingly stretching upwards forever into the skies.
And standing right in front of me, was a random pink coloured troll.
Author's note:
Yay, first chapter! For anyone who wants to know when I upload, I honestly don't have much time to write everyday because of school, so the timing would probably be inconsistent. But I'll try a weekly schedule. And maybe since im allowed to use my computer for typing on Sundays, I would probably upload on Sunday.I have the storyline sorta plotted out and the chapters split, so we'll see how this ends up!
What's going to happen next? How would our dear princess Poppy think of Branch when she first sees him? All that, in the next chapter! See you all next week!
