It was her first day outside of the army lot. She was wearing her uniform and was all ready, so she thought.

The siren sounded and everyone ran. It felt like an episode in time of the Hunger Games. She screamed as all the guys ran into position. She then felt an arm grab her and flatten her to the ground in between the trees. She heard fires and the arm rested around her back. It was Josh, one of her roomates. She squealed as he covered her mouth. After hours and hours of scrambling back and forth, getting stuck in barb wire, nearly being hit with fire darts, getting stuck under rough prickly bushes and being forced to jump from 7 metre high trees, she finally was taken to a large, 3 wall shed crowded with all the boys, when everyone had settled down a tiny bit, Josh being the most comforting one as she sulked, she looked up as few groups of different people starting cheering a little bit. It was Reece, wearing his olivey t-shit, sunnies, camo pants, and black boots, walking with his overshirt hanging over his shoulder, with a rifle attached to his back. Only very few of them had rifles.

He smiled as he waved to a group of rebel looking guys who were having a smoke.

She stared in quite awe, the sun flickering off his skin and his smile just mezmirised her. He looked actually really sexy.

After a while she finally got to her dorm room where all the boys were, she was so beaten and defeated.

She dragged to her bed. Writing the day down in her journal. In the morning, she awoke to the blessed sentence:

"Today we are doing theory work". Which she found herself just writing the whole day.

She kept looking up at Reece, who completely ignored her, or seemed as if he were. She glanced up a lot at him, every time to be dissapointed with him just having the side of his head against her. She wa starting to develop a bit of a slight crush of the guy, just a little.

She finished her notes finally. She sat there in silence, looking up at the clock: 4pm.

"You can go back to your dorm if you'd like Rose." She nodded as everyone looked up and stared at her. She could feel Reece's eyes burning into the back of her soul. She cringed, the back of her hair was probably horrible. She escaped into her dorm, resting on her bed, once again writing in her journal. But a quick scutter from the door made her leak ink from her pen all over the paper. Reece. She kept her eyes on her book.

"What do you write in that thing, anyway?" Reece suddenly spoke.

"Uh, I- just.." She looked down at her book and back up at Reece. "It's just whenever I see you, you're writing in it."

"It's a journal for like... Special things."

"Special things?"

"Yes." she answered.

"Then i'm must be in it hey?" He winked.

"No.." Rose laughed awkwardly.

"Why not? It is for special things, is it not?"

By now he had both arms crossing each other on the edge of her bunk-bed, looking up at her.

"M-n-" she stuttered

"Special things that happen to me." She managed to stroke out of her mouth finally.

"Then do you think I could be in one of those pages one day?" He smiled generously.

"Maybe one day." She smiled back, a little offly.

He laughed freakishly, which made her think if he were joking or not. He walked over to his bed in the corner and covered his eyes with the arm length from his hands to his elbows. "Why?" She asked across the room. "Just curious." He hesitated.

She sat looking at him for a moment before going back to her journal. After a few minutes he got up and walked to the bathroom.

She ignored and started a new page of her journal.

Until she heard a unique sound echoeing from the walls. She slowly crept up the door, hearing an amazing voice sing it's heart out.

She opened the door quietly to find it stop, she looked around but couldn't find Reece, or anyone.

Though the dorms were connected through each bathroom, she never thought he would go out into someone else's dorm, especially that fast. "Reece?" She called out.

"I-" she wanted to get him out, so she thought of something else to say other than 'I think your voice is so good.'

"I wanna know what you meant by.. One day, like... I don't want to ruin your style or whatever but what did you mean?"

"I think you're sexy, love." He opened a door of a toilet with a guitar strapped around him. She froze at the word 'sexy'.

"Se-"

"Yes, very sexy. I don't care what you think. But you should know that every guy here wants you." He carelessly said.

"Ever-"

"I can tell I caught your eye. Come on, it's not at all obvious." He sarcastically said. He would barely let her get a proper word in. So she shutup.

"Besides, I don't want you sneaking a look at me and waiting for me to give a hint, there's an answer. But, everyone would hate me if we started a thing."

She frowned at him. He walked out, before leaving hiding his guitar behind a small indoor water main located next to the modern sink. She stood there, confused as hell. She shook her head to walk out and find most of the boys already back. They all turned to look at her, she never realised it before but they always had done this, things were confusing but starting to make sense.

"Hey Rosie!" Josh called out from across the room

"Hey." she smiled, looking around at all the boys staring at her.

"What did I say again? Do you remember Rose?" Reece was holding a sarcastic look as everyone turned around and glared at him.

"Don't worry about him rose, whatever he's going on about's probably a load of crap." A boy to her left said.

Rose raised her eyebrows and lifted her head at him expressing quietly "hm.", as she showed a toothless sarcastic smile, walking back to her bed.

She got up, opening her journal, jotting down those last few minutes she had just gone through.

"Rose, can I have a word?" Josh asked.

"Of course?" they both walked out and he shut the door behind him.

"Stay away from Reece."

"Why?"

"He's bad news",

"Come on, Josh, everyone's here because they've done something bad."

"No. Not Reece, he killed someone",

"Reece? Please. Josh don't lie to me." Rose chuckled.

"I swear i'm not lying." Rose froze and turned to the door

"For real? He actually..." She couldn't even say the words.

"Yes, I'm sorry that you had to find out from me, but I don't want to see anything happen to you.",

Rose frowned a little, "Josh. Um, Why? Why do you care about me so much? We've known each other for not even a week?"

"I care about everyone, that's me." He shrugged.

She frowned a little more and was about to walk back in when he pulled her into a hug.

"I've decided we'll be great friends, you have no one else, I want to take care of you here."

Rose slowly broke the hug off, rubbing his shoulder, "I'll be fine, trust me."

Josh smiled sadly, looking into her eyes "I'll be here just to make sure." She smiled awkwardly as he turned and walked back into the room, and she followed.
