Soon school would be on a break for Thanksgiving god knows I needed it I had been avoiding Ricky for weeks now but still showing up for rehearsals.
No one suspected anything yet and luck was on my side because I wouldn't throw up during rehearsals though I would get light headed but Delilah helped me as much as she could as she was in the costume room so I was glade to have her there.
It couldn't help that Nini and EJ basically gave us death glares when we were rehearsing but me and Ricky made the best of it keeping talk completely professional also a dance was coming up so everyone was occupied even Carlos the big Homecoming Dance which seemed like a big deal but it really wasn't so it was basically overhyped.
Ashlyn was talking to me as Delilah was busy in the costume room and asked if I was going I mean I can't really I don't have a date she offered to go because her cousin EJ was going but I politely declined her saying I much rather watch Netflix instead.
Then much to my surprise I saw Ricky and Gina talking with ease I felt a pang of jealousy but decided to ignore it.
Then I heard Gina bragging that she was going to the dance with Ricky and I decided to take matters into my own hands and invite someone.
Tyler who was a senior and on the waterpolo team with EJ which he was confused on why I was asking him because I had previously stated that they were egotistical assholes but that was beside the point.
I wanted to make Ricky jealous and he probably wanted to make Nini jealous so that settled that and while I was gone I saw Delilah walking out of the drama room with a huge smile on her face apparently Big Red asked her to Homecoming because Ricky would be busy plus he admitted to actually really liking her.
I hugged her saying I was happy for her and then she immediately drove us to a dress shop texting our parents we were shopping for Homecoming tonight last minute.
Delilah of course found a blue checkered dress that was absolutely her style and was beautiful on her , I on the other hand had trouble finding a dress since I only wore them on rare occasions and sometimes at school.
Finally after much time of looking I found the perfect dress at the thrift store we were in and it was beautiful and totally my style.

To say the least I loved the dress and I found some dark purple heels to match as well the dress fitted nicely and Delilah said I look absolutely beautiful in it going back to her house our dresses and shoes in our hand we were almost ready for homecoming.
Delilah did a purple smokey eye and some light pink lipgloss on me , which I thought was very nice she also did my hair in a elegant bun with a purple headband which I thought matched my outfit.
I did a braid on her hair doing a blue smokey eye for her and some red light lipgloss we looked good putting on our dresses we took her car but not before her parents want us to take pictures.
I was nervous but as we walked to Delilah's parents car she reassured me that it would be alright and we'd face Ricky together on the drive to East High I told her that I was glad that Big Red finally asked her out.
She laughed and said thank you and she smiled solemnly and told me at any time I want to leave the dance just ask her and we'll leave I was thankful to have her as a friend.
The gym was really crowded and I spotted Ricky and Big Red , Big Red coming towards us greeting us and Ricky just ignoring me with Gina.
EJ looking sad probably because Nini dumped him ignoring the Ricky situation I decided against having punch because it was probably spiked and just decided on chocolate cake Delilah giving me a thumbs up before dancing with Big Red I give her a small smile in return.
So against my better judgement I decided to make small talk with my classmate.
"So no date ?"
"Eh maybe Nini just forgot where's yours Tyler couldn't stop bragging about you".
"I decided to go with my friend instead and no offense your teammates is kind of a douche".
"Non taken he is kind of show offish and it gets awful at times".
I laughed and maybe thought that EJ wasn't so bad after all he just put on a front.
Eating a little bit more of my cake I heard EJ ask "What's the deal with you and Bowen aren't you like friends for life or something you've been avoiding each other like the plague".
Since I didn't want the most popular senior knowing my secret I just lied and said "I got fed up with his I want Nini back shit, and I mean Big Red can put up with it but I was just so tired of it".
EJ laughed and agreed but I think apart of him wasn't fully convinced by my answer.
Then couples started getting together to dance with their significant others and I looked as Gina and Ricky were laughing heading to the dance floor me looking sadly and I glanced over a Big Red and Delilah.
EJ seemed to have gotten the message and he got up and held out his hand and asked me to dance I then took it and headed to the dance floor.
Even though it was just in a friend way we slow danced not too close to each other as the romantic song played as I looked over to see Big Red and Delilah kissing and Ricky looking over at me what could only be described as jealousy.
