Chapter 7- Honoring the Family

Maihow POV

My in-laws visited me and left me with an abundance of jewelry. Bags and bags waterfalls and mountains of gold,Lace, atampa, and Bazin. All I could recall was looking into Tairi's moms eyes and watch them beam with joy. As if my virginity accomplished something in life or appeased their hearts. Betrayal was what I felt. Possibly from God. Astaghfurulaghh!! God chose to be a covenant for me. I accept it. He who sins shall be forgiven if he seeks forgiveness and treats his sin as an embarrassment not an achievement. Tairi paced up and down the whole day even while his family was here. "So you mean to tell me you were only deflowered?" He asked me furrowing his eyebrows. I just looked at him and nodded yes. He sucked his teeth and left. He walked back in the room 5 mins later. "Listen, you asked me to do that yesterday if not I wouldn't  nonetheless you ne- I cut him off "It's fine, can you stop talking about it?" At this point I was annoyed. He held his chin and walked out .

Days have passed and it seemed to me as if  all we do in this house is pace about and avoid one another. Recently he told me to move into the guest room accross his room. Honestly the best decision ever I've had my freedom for a while now feels good. He only talks to me concerning my mental health (my mom recently died). I honestly just want to tell him I'm not fine. Truth be told he doesn't care and I can see it in his eyes. Today I want to stay positive as my bestie Aline and cousin Chamsia are coming to visit me. Yayyyyyyy. I get dressed in my high waisted pants and halter top wallahi  I know as a "married" woman I should be in atampa and Miriam makeba's but  I'm not used to atampa till now. *Knock knock* I squealed getting up towards the doors.

"My babies!!!" I screamed embracing my to loviess. "Qui est ton bébé? (who is your baby?) I'm older than you tchrrr". Chamsia said scoffing . I just rolled my eyes I almost forgot my bestie Aline was standing there. She is so quiet. I greeted them and invited them in. They kept commenting on how big and beautiful the house is. I honestly have not noticed anything in this house . I just noticed yesterday that there was a pool in the backyard after spending a week and a half in this house. "Anyways baby girl how was the wedding night?" Chamsia said not even bothered Aline even nudged her. "Chamso really!! Ask her light things now".Aline said laughing. "You guys are embarrassing anyways. I know you guys heard labaro(the news) I bled." I said blowing air. Aline and  Chamsia looked at each other. (In my family Chamsia and her mom Sadia and Tantie Rahmatou are the only ones that know I wasn't a virgin). "How?" Aline said turning her head sideways. I rolled my eyes and turned my head. Then Chamsia replied " Its possible kouma(since) Ridouane only deflowered her tohh." I looked at Chamsia and agreed . " You're right! I even forgot it's possible." She said shaking her head. 

I showed them everything my in-laws brought for me and to be honest I ended up giving almost all my stuff. OK no I'm exaggerating 😂🤣. I don't know what Chamsia said but we all bursted ou laughing then guess who walks in Tairi. "Hey Angooo(groom)" Chamsia said standing up. Tairi went up to hug her. " My bestie how's life? I hope your not giving Usman a hard time." Tairi said teasing her. "You know ur bestie now, I'm very peaceful." She said pushing him. He said may god forgive you and they started arguing. These two amaze me I didn't even know they knew each other. He salam Aline and I and walked upstairs. I stared and Chamsia for a minute until she noticed.  "Ahiii what is it now, I know I'm beautiful bu- Aline cut her off "You didn't tell us you knew him". Aline looked at her confused. "Wayoo, your right. Tairi and I went to the same primary and secondary school. He was 2 grades higher than me but we've always been best friends. He is like a brother to me. It's when he left for university and got with that Fauzia that we became distant". She said rolling her eyes, probably at the thought of Fauzia. "Fauzia?" I said furrowing. "Girl don't worry about that useless girl"Chamsia said flagging her hand. I shrugged it off. I soon escorted them home after hours of acting fools. I love these girls. Aline is going back to the US tomorrow. She has school so she has no choice but to go, I'm gonna miss her. We farewelled goodbye and that nasty Chamsia started winking her eyes. That girl 🤦🏾‍♀️.
